I think that's very possible as we get closer to the end of TC. If we feel like we don't have what we need, we will be signing somebody. As I posted earlier, FA backs are usually signed early in Free Agency (for the top guys) or late into TC. I expect that this is how it will play out if the team decides we need more. At this point, there really is no need to sign anybody. The guys out there are probably not the answer or they would already be signed and the guys who will be available have not been let go yet. The good thing is that because so many backs were drafted this year, it's likely that there will be a few guys get cut who can play. The down side is that they will probably be more expensive but it is what it is.

True but there are some guys like a Knowshon Moreno, Pierre Thomas and Chris Johnson

There are. I think that the Cowboys already know what they need to know about those guys so why bring them in now? All it does is take snaps away from the guys you need to find out more about in TC. I think there is a good chance that at least two of those guys will still be there if we decide to bring in somebody. You figure that if we sign another back, it's a good bet that all of them would rather come to Dallas if the money is equivalent.

I don't expect Dallas today to do that I think if things are not going good in training camp Dallas will. As for money, none of the RB out there will be getting big money they are hoping for the next chance.

Great read. Really enjoyed this. Thank you.

When looking at the pics of where Murray ran and where he should have run, I couldn't help but think of how the virtual reality helmet cams can help us with our run game as well as the passing. Being able to see what the runner sees can't do anything but help us to help him make the correct decisions as to which hole he should hit.

Good stuff!

I agree with you, but at the same time, it's tough to make him 'the guy' if you can't trust him not to be stupid.

I hope he runs with it, but there's that part based on his past history that makes you worry.

Stop worrying over that. People change you know. Besides...you know most NFL players are stupid because they think they are big shots. lol

Most of the complaints about Smith's technique were pre-draft or earlier in his career, but LeCharles Bentley for example cited that he had poor technique in his set up which made him susceptible to bull rushes. I am sure there are still some remnants of that which he is polishing up.

All in all, if a seasoned OL coach mentioned he has some technical flaws but he more than makes up for it with his other tools, why would you take exception to that?

He did not say he was not a great player, just noted the technical piece and the way he more than compensates for it. The writer coined his observation as "rickety", never a direct quote either.

It is nitpicking, mainly because you probably don't want to accept his assessment of Parnell either.

Ryan Silverfield, recent Vikings offensive line assistant and current Sun Devils offensive consultant.

Not exactly the top expert. Tyron has been taught by one of the best OL coaches in the NFL and his rookie year he was taught by an OL coach that made 1M per year. I don;'t think Silverman can hold those guys jock.
