Pretty much laid it at Bills feet IMHO. In so many words called the system UNFLEXIBLE down the stretch and said this D is an EASY fix if someone is allowed to run it and be flexible. Said going back to the 4-3 would depend greatly on Ellis. There was a lot more to the interview but that was the most in teresting part. Maybe someone will recap better than i?

Yeah, he's probably telling some truths. But judgin on what Zimmer has done in years past, it's on him too.

Ellis shouldn't be anyone we count on anyway.

Yeah, its all bills fault. When Bills teams sucks its because he is too controlling and never lest his coordinators coach the game but when Bill has success, everyone jumps out of the woodwork screaming that it was all Belicek or some other assistant.

Blah, blah. I don't care what the excuse was, Zimmer wasn't getting it done. He should have jumped off board 2 years ago if he didn't think he was having a hand in things. Would have been the perfect time....he could have seen how things were going to go and he would have had the perfect out.

Seems to me like hes just trying to save a little face in the fans eyes by doing these interview. Rather then directing his attention to taking a look at prospects this week, hes slinging mud hoping that he can come out clean. Everyone who had a hand on the defense is at fault.....Players, Assisstants and Coaches.

Interviews like that are worthless.

Did you expect him to say I suck and didn't know what adjustments to make?

Everything we do on defense depends on Ellis.

I think we need to draft or most likely sign a linebacker/DE type that can replace him.

When he implied that our DB's don't do what they're supposed to, and he did imply this when he said he was looking forward to working with Atlanta's DB's because they do what they're supposed to, whom do we think he was referring to? I'm jumping to conclusions, but is there any chance he was referring to Roy?

probably, but I hope he isn't referring to DeAngelo Hall knowing what he's supposed to be doing

of course, those who love and miss bill will dismiss interviews like this as "self-serving".

those who hate bill will use these like they're going out of style to bash bill.

i just kinda wanna step back some and see what a lot of sources say and draw my own conclusions.

but we're hearing from a lot of sources things were just not happy under bp. coaches didn't want to be there, couldn't do their jobs...jjt's article was saying that many assistants had to keep it simple because bill couldn't get the more complex schemes... are all these true?

maybe, maybe not. but one thing you can count on is...

those who love and miss bill will dismiss interviews like this as "self-serving".

those who hate bill will use these like they're going out of style to bash bill.

and the discussions will go on.

oh i'm sure many of these stories will come out - but those who defended bp to the end will dismiss them for xyz reason.

how true they are we may never really know and even if told, who to believe now comes into question.

I don't think the interview went down like that - in so many words. I read the recap earlier, and people hear what they want to hear. The uuhhhhhmmmmsss are interpreted as him mulling over killing Parcells, and then he "holds back" - because the uhm's couldn't possibly be that Zim just isn't an eloquent conversationalist.

I never trust any "recap" where there is anything more than straight wording, and feeling and meaning is inferred by the listener. If you can find the audio, listen for yourself.

that isn't what i said, summer. but it doesn't surprise me it's what you heard.

i also said those who hate bp will use these all over the place to prove their point. in this stance i'm kinda in the middle seeing what the extremes do. given that i'm anti-bill myself, i can understand why you saw it as "don't listen to reason..." but is that what i said?

no.

so don't go there.

what i said was when an anti-bp article comes out - it will be dismissed by one side and held to be gospel by the other.

clear now?

this i can agree with and one side to point in what i was trying to say myself. people will believe in it what they want to believe in either fashion. unless you have direct involvement, however, that's all you're gonna get.

but i agree w/ya sp.
