It sure helps to have a great name in life. Maybe even more so in sports.

I once thought of changing my name to Paco Vaughn Nordstrom. That would have given me the aura of the friendly guy "Hey Paco" plus the aura of a rich, powerful dude (Vaughn Nordstrom). It would also sound ethnically ambiguous, adding intrigue. I've never had the balls to do it (yet).

But it's amazing that so many football players have unique names. I'm hesitant to included nicknames in this thread, but I think it's a little inevitable we'll hear some before the thread is finished.

Here is a start on my favorite Cowboy names:
Roger Staubach
Troy Aikman (A man of Troy!)
Dez Bryant (Dez is cool to me, for whatever reason)
Alex Barron
Kevin Ogletree
Scott Sicko
Kenyon Coleman
Martín Gramática (for a kicker)
Isaiah Stanback
Montavious Stanley

A few League-wide:
James Thrash
Jack Youngblood
Alge Crumpler

Colt McCoy.

I like that as well.

Ray Nitschke

I'm drawing from a visual in my mind but that guy just looked the part of a tough fight to the death football player.

When I heard the Cowboys had drafted a guy called Shante Carver I thought "now he SOUNDS like a football player!"

Unfortunately he seemingly only sounded like a football player, not much else.

Had the same feeling when they drafted Quincy Carter..he HAD to be better than some dude called, say, Romo for example.

Winner winner chicken dinner...LOL One of the greatest football names EVER. Too Tall Jones isnt too bad either though. Theres so many though really,.....Charlie Waters, Jethro Pugh, Eugene Lockhart, ....Those 3 just have that SOUND of somebody you DONT WANNA MESS WITH......

Alonzo Spellman. Besides being TOTALLY NUTS that dude just LOOKED scary....LOL Somethin in the EYES when he was ON the field

Two of my favorites

Cowboys = Obert Logan

Non-Cowboys = Harry Theofilides

For some reason I'm thinking Ebenezer Ekuban....and Tony Romo but only because when he first started as our qb the announcers really didn't know who he was and kept calling him Tony Roma as in Tony Roma Ribs...lol.
