I sometimes question whether Tony D deserves the HOF as an all time great, but he was certainly better than Campbell, imo. Notice, Tony D barely exists in the record books

He only retired w/ almost 13,000 yds and 92 TDs. And he only had ONE season (1982-strike season) in which he didn't top 1000 yards! Also factor in that he's the only RB on this list that actually played with a great QB (except maybe Brown; but I'm too young to know if he played w/ Graham)! Tony Dorsett is the only player in the history of football with these five career achievements: A NCAA championship, a Heisman Trophy, a place in the Collegiate Hall of Fame, a Super Bowl championship, and enshrinement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Yeah, it sounds like he's out of place to me!! :blind:

Ummmm..most of your college arguments, along with playing with a great QB, don't exactly make your point about the HOF...college has nothing to do with it. He actually played 4 years without 1000 and 8 seasons with 1000, yet he only had one big year, 1646....his second best year was a very pedestrian 1325...he had a lot of carries for a small guy and never averaged 5 yards a carry, his best season being 4.8...his career average 4.3....and just to get one last rise out of the guys who were annoyed with my loyalty to OJ...OJ's career average was 4.7....He had two seasons that topped anything Tony ever did, including his 2000 yard season and an 1800....He also averaged over 5 yards a carry 3 times....once he actually averaged 6.0 yards per carry on 332 carries....putting that into perspective, I was a huge Dorsett fan, but he's one of those guys that I think got in without the monster performances of the other guys on the list.

First of all, he didn't even play 12 seasons but you're correct, he did break 1000 only eight out of his 10 years w/ Dallas (he did play one season in DEN). Secondly, he retired as the third leading rusher in the NFL, if I'm not mistaken, so that's worthy of HOF consideration in and of itself! Also, don't you realize that playing with a great QB like Staubach (and Danny White for that matter) affects the RBs' amounts of carries? If Gary Hogeboom or some other average guy was his QB while he was in his prime who knows how many yards he would have ended up with! So no, he didn't have the "monster" performances like some of the others, but T.D. played on teams where he didn't have to shoulder the burden of carrying them.

So you guys really think Jim Brown is the worst on this list? The spirit of the game is to vote for the best and worst on the list...not to see how long your favorite Cowboy stays on.

You really can't differentiate between reality and fan loyalty? Really?

Chill bro, I'm sorry I am messing up your precious game. Dang. Just trying to keep Tony around a little longer. Jim Brown has points to give so I thought I would take one of his, calm down.

This is far more than a game. This determines for all eternity who is the Greatest RB to ever play.:D

Doesn't really matter, the answer is DMAC.;)
