First of all, he didn't even play 12 seasons but you're correct, he did break 1000 only eight out of his 10 years w/ Dallas (he did play one season in DEN). Secondly, he retired as the third leading rusher in the NFL, if I'm not mistaken, so that's worthy of HOF consideration in and of itself! Also, don't you realize that playing with a great QB like Staubach (and Danny White for that matter) affects the RBs' amounts of carries? If Gary Hogeboom or some other average guy was his QB while he was in his prime who knows how many yards he would have ended up with! So no, he didn't have the "monster" performances like some of the others, but T.D. played on teams where he didn't have to shoulder the burden of carrying them.
