Emmitt James Smith III...Smith is a three time Super Bowl champion and the NFL's all time rushing leader, a record formerly held by his childhood hero Walter Payton. Smith surpassed Payton on October 27, 2002 against the Seattle Seahawks at Texas Stadium. He is the only running back to ever have won a Super Bowl championship, the NFL Most Valuable Player award, the NFL rushing crown, and the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award all in the same season (1993). LaDainian Tomlinson (born June 24, 1979) is an American football player who currently plays running back for the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League. This list is evidence of the homers we are as cowboys fans. Put this on a national level, and I don't think there is a single national reporter who would have chosen Emmitt over Barry any season they were both in their prime. What Barry Sanders did without a quality offensive line and without another star position player to keep defenses honest is beyond astounding. I love Emmitt, but seriously- 45 to 15?
