Hey, compadres, there are some other newbies on this forum with us.
Explain this as if I'm not in the radio business, and have no idea what you're talking about...because I'm lost.I haven't seen anyone here up to the conspiracy level of es, he could own that franchise. Got to give him credit, he was right about the conspiracy over there. I miss sittin' on a bar stool with him while an alcoholic slag in torn fishnets lifts his wallet.
However, part of that comes from the industry we were both in and he still is. The selling out of radio, which belongs to the public, so a bunch of profiteers and the head of the NAB wrecked our industry and about 65% of the employees that were employed in 196 are gone, those jobs just vanished. That was a full blown conspiracy including some congressional help in getting radio tagged onto the Telcom Act of 1996. They just sneaked it in there and most of the morons in congress didn't even know it was there and admitted so and so did Clinton after signing it. He did she a conspiracy up close and personal.
It's CC, expect lostness.Explain this as if I'm not in the radio business, and have no idea what you're talking about...because I'm lost.

Okay, what the Hell is this message I keep getting that I have to wait however many seconds before I can perform this action? Am I too fast for a computer program to keep up, or is it just making sure I thought things through?
Prior to 1996, one company could own 7 AM's and 7 FM's which climbed to 12 because some of the group owners were getting greedy and some stations were going belly up. The National Association of Broadcasters was controlled by a few owners and their version of Goodell was their minion and they developed a plan to circumvent the FCC and go through congress to take advantage of the sweeping Telecom Act and get the rules relaxed so they could take advantage and increase their profits.Explain this as if I'm not in the radio business, and have no idea what you're talking about...because I'm lost.

For Everone but france.Still capitalizing pronouns?
I was wondering why radio started to suck, and Clear Channel stations in particular. The on-air personalities are about as entertaining as the folks who host the fundraisers for PBS. It's no wonder people pay for Sirius and such.Prior to 1996, one company could own 7 AM's and 7 FM's which climbed to 12 because some of the group owners were getting greedy and some stations were going belly up. The National Association of Broadcasters was controlled by a few owners and their version of Goodell was their minion and they developed a plan to circumvent the FCC and go through congress to take advantage of the sweeping Telecom Act and get the rules relaxed so they could take advantage and increase their profits.
They pulled it off by tagging the radio part on the and it became time for owners to go all in or get out and where an owner could only have 1 am and 1 FM in a market before, now they could have up to 6 and in some instances more. Clear Channel became the 800lb gorilla and just started eliminating jobs, primarily management and on air talent. The practice of voice tracking became the norm and it was uncommon for one jock to voice track 5-8 other stations in other markets. All of those 5 jobs used to be held by people. 6 stations that had a minimum of 4 GM's, now had 1. The exodus out of radio was on.
It is common now that there are few live jocks on these stations, stations that are licensed to serve the public. It was so bad that several years back Fargo had a flood hit and there was not one live person on radio in the market. But the business model was more profitable. It never should have been about profit, it's a federally licensed public service entity.
I got hit when I was in Boise because my owner decided to sell to my direct competitor, whom I had beaten in the ratings and revenue but he kept his GM and I was out. I had a staff of 38 people and and hired all but 3 of them, taken stations ranked 9 and 10 to 1 and 2 but I had to leave and give that up because of greed. I didn't get back into radio until 2007 and that was with a small company, not one of the corporate career killers.
Radio had once been a great business and truly served their communities and the FCC policed that to make sure. Some greed merchants found some allies in congress and ruined it. But they all got nice paydays from it. It was a conspiracy by the very definition.
So the "thinking things through" thing then........Where was this program before I got married???No, they're just taking a hint from your ex wife.
I thought "Moi" was the only French pronoun. For Everone but france.

You have enough posts to where I think you should be able to create a new thread. I don't know the actual post count that's required, but I think you're okay to try.I have a question, At what point can new members start threads? And how is that done? That's actually two questions so if you want to just answer one of them, I'll understand
Thank youYou have enough posts to where I think you should be able to create a new thread. I don't know the actual post count that's required, but I think you're okay to try.
I believe A new thread button should be in the top right corner.
