Trade up to 1 and prepare for the future. Way too many questions/holes on this team to go for need in the first; Ramsey, Bosa, etc. IF Romo stays healthy all year, our 1st next year will be later in the draft. Moving from 4 to 1 is a lot easier now than waiting a year and moving up from mid-late 1st to grab a blue chip QB. Use this opportunity to secure the most important position on the field.
Wait what? Way too many questions and holes, yet you want to trade away picks to move up three spots? That logic doesn't really make sense. We would have to give up either our first, second and third this year or a future first. All this for a kid who played a season and a half in FCS but is winning the underwear Olympics. No thanks.
I know you're in the Goff camp and understand we likely wouldn't trade up for Wentz. My fear is both will be gone bc another team moves to 1 and CLE selects Goff @ 2. I'm okay with trading next year's 1st for the most important position on the team. I meant too many holes to go for need; Bosa, Buckner, Ramsey, etc.

I think Goff is the better QB, but I still am not sure picking a QB is the best option. I still don't think either of these guys are top-10 picks in a strong draft. Furthermore, all the people in the "must take a QB" camp are preaching that as a need. So I don't see the defense that Bosa or Ramsey are more of need picks, particularly when they're both top 5 projections on almost every board--meaning they would almost be locks for BPA at #4. The perfect draft pick is when BPA and need meet.
I respect Greg Cosell...he watches tons and tons of film plus he knows what he's looking for as well. This is a good endorsement for King Carson.
I disagree that Wentz is not BPA in this draft. Specifically because of the position he plays, it takes precedent over blue chip defenders and meets a huge need for the future success of the team. Romo is the HC, OC, etc. as the 4-12 record basically proved this aspect to many observers; even JJ. But we don't value the top rated QB in the draft?
No problem taking a QB at 4 if they love him that much...butTrade up to 1 and prepare for the future. 1)Seeing that almost all player rankings have both Bosa and Ramsey rated above (often way above) Wentz, taking either of them would not at all be drafting only for need. The opposite, actually.
2) trading up to 1st overall would cost us at least two 1st rounders and possibly this year's entire tradable draft to boot.
I like Wentz a lot, but there is far too much discussion about every single constituent part of him instead of the whole thing.
He's aced draft season, but too many are focusing on the trees not the forest
Ah but when the good ole cowboyszone resident catch17 says it we all just laugh huh?
I try so hard to teach you guys the game of football but you will just not listen. You can lead a horse to water....
They are talented players (Bosa and Ramsey) and meant need in the context of our team situation. Last year should've proven that QB is a need as well.
It's just confusing that you keep knocking Bosa and Ramsey due to being "needs" and then immediately say they have to take Wentz based on need.

So if you have a lot of holes you give up picks? What kind of reasoning as that other than giving up?
