You can post almost identical stats for the two players, and more than a few people seem to base their responses solely on the player's name.
I can believe that....

Stats aside, I just want to see good offensive flow. I realize the other teams get paid, too, and that has definitely impacted how the offense has performed. So if the offense can pass my heavily corrected eye test, then numbers be damned.

That's just me, tho.

Dak Prescott had two interceptions in a loss to the Giants last week. (AP)

Through most of this season, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott played like a veteran.

Recently, some of the concerns about Prescott coming out of college and some concerns we see with all rookie quarterbacks have been showing up with more regularity.

What I’ve noticed with Prescott – even before his below-average games against the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants – is that he isn’t seeing things as clearly as he did earlier in the season. He is leaving throws on the field. That has been a slight but noticeable trend, and it continued against the Giants.

Prescott missed a big play against the Giants late in the first half. This might have even been a touchdown. Cole Beasley ran a go route from the slot over the top of the defense but Prescott didn’t process it for some reason. Instead, he threw to Terrance Williams on a dig route on the same side of the field.

Again, he’s not seeing things as clearly as he did earlier in the season. This could have been a game-changing touchdown right before halftime.

That's not true at all he's been missing wide open recievers on the backside of the play ALL YEAR because he is only reading half the field. He has never looked like a veteran.

To me the problem feels a little similar to last year. We are basically a short offense currently. Most everything within the first 5-10 yards, and that just allows people to suck up on defense and have a bunch of people in the box. Dak's biggest problem, in my opinion, is he's processing a little slow and his mechanics seem to be making his intermediate and longer throws slow and inaccurate currently. He had been better on intermediate earlier in the year, but I swear he's got happy feet right now, just not setting right consistently enough in clean pockets, dirty pockets, or out on the run. He doesn't have the Aaron Rodgers arm that lets him flick his wrist in a bad mechanical position and deliver a fastball strike. I think its correctable, because we've seen him do better, but I'm just worried that it's something that's not going to get fixed in season this year.

Sure, when it comes to stats, you can take'em or leave'em.

But if you take'em, they don't mean any more or less depending on the name that's beside them.

But it shows why these stats don't tell the real story. The dude was being trumpeted for MVP of the league around here a couple of weeks ago, for crying out loud.

He's a game manager who hasn't managed the game very well lately.

That was for ratings he was never a legitimate MVP candidate rookie of the year maybe but Zeke's going to take rookie of the year. I would swear off the NFL if Dak won MVP because that would be ridiculous.

That's my biggest concern, as well. He and the offense needs to bounce back tonight.

I can accept an L, if the Tampa Bay actually just straight up beats the Cowboys. I'm not so sure I can accept another poor looking offense out there before I start looking at my comfort socks in Romo.

As Bill Walsh used to say: "Look at your feet man". With Walsh, Montana and Young's footwork was EVERYTHING...as without it the offense sputtered because the timing was off on all the routes.

If Dak continues to struggle I still am not sure they go back, but as a fan I would always wonder what if. Romo might not be able to do it physically, but we just don't know.

That's not why.

For the first time in over two decades we have a legitimate shot of getting back to the Super Bowl.

From what I'm been reading a lot of fans feel that Dak is experiencing real rookie struggles. There's nothing wrong with that and under different circumstances he would be afforded a learning curve. But at what expense this year? There's no guarantee that we get this far next season.

So the way I see it, if he continues to struggle and it starts to really impact this playoff and SB run, then put Romo in! Let's see if he can take us the next step. Because if Dak keeps playing like he has the last few games then we are one and done anyway.

There is no legitimate shot at a SB not with a Rookie at the helm it would be a longshot as league history suggests.

I take 'em or leave 'em when they're rookie stats. Too many one-hit wonders in the NFL. When these guys grow some hair on their chin, then I pay attention to the numbers.

It's good to post Dak numbers vs Romo's numbers for this year. because it's good for discussion, but that's all I see it as. Discussion.

I was listening to a show on Sirius NFL channel and seems the only fans in the NFL that don't want Dakota are Patriots fans, Green Bay fans.... Oh yeah Cowboys fans also. Everyone else was willing to take the problem away from Dallas, lol;Even Pittsburgh fans say Ben only has a few years left send him there they'd be happy to have him. Why not trade him next year, Jerry would definitely get a 1st and probably a 3rd for him, why worry about the future when the future is NOW!!! Patriots made out like bandits a few years ago trading their starter for Brady away, of course they had Brady coming back, Denver let theirs go, he is a bum now and they have a pretty good replacement in place. I say roll the dice, we don't need Dakota, he can go somewhere else that he isn't on the team that EVERYONE LOVES TO HATE, get from under the microscope of even his own fans and quietly mature into someone else's franchise QB. Apparently most have forgotten how they've treated Romo all these years, now all of a sudden he walks on water because Dakota is a rookie and had a few bad games. I'm ok with whatever but everyone remember where you were when and if the switch happens and Romo still fails, I'd love to see him ride into glory but past history doesn't make me hold out any hope but I'd love to see it. But if it doesn't I would love to see everyone whining and moaning about the Rook stand up and take it like a man, bend over and smile when that 400 lbs gorilla walks up behind you.

And may not until he's on his next team..

I'd be willing to bet probably will not. I'm really thinking from quotes that the only way they go to Romo is by injury. I guess maybe if Dak loses the next three they might change for the playoffs.

I don't think Prescott has the luxury of losing this game from the standpoint of a growing call for a change. However, he will no doubt be given the Lions game to get right finally, but two losses in a row puts the division and first seed in real jeopardy, especially if New York beats both Detroit and Philadelphia...which is a real possibility since Stafford now has torn ligaments on his throwing hand and will have to face a tough pass defense in rainy, cold weather conditions. Dallas then has to go on the road for another cold weather game against a potent defense...and then hope that New York loses against the high powered Commanders.

You mean like Dan Marino?

The people who lay the blame at the feet of romo for not winning the team another Lombardi Trophy are in my opinion; have warped sped straight thru unrealistic, power blasted across inflexible and are maintaining a high orbit in the delusional range.

The owner has come to terms in letting other passionate yet calmer more rational people have a hand in the future of the franchise,,, and it's coming to fruition, it's kinda sad tony romo had to be the beater Toyota car running down the broken blacktop till we hit the interstate tooling in an Escalade,,,cuz, all he wanted to do is win and (and that he did,a damn sight more than we would've without him,,that whole quandary of the 8-8 seasons are a head-scratcher,huh?)

Dak has earned the right to play regardless if we lose tonight and next week. As long as he is healthy he should be playing

No, because most rookie QBs don't have to do OJT when they really should have had to sit. Alas, circumstances prevented that from happening. So he's done well, but the struggles, and please at least admit that yes, he and the offense has had struggles, this time of year are concerning.

I expect him to bounce back, tho.
What rookie doesn't struggle??? That's called the learning curve and everyone has to go through it. Pretty simple concept.

Kinda my point. You expect a rookie to struggle as they learn. But he didn't...much...as the team went on that massive winning streak. He picked a bad time to actually have rookie struggles. Limping into the playoffs is not a confidence builder is all I'm saying. It would suck terribly if the team has all this regular season success only to falter down the stretch, limp into the playoffs and be one and done...again, all because the rookie is playing like a rookie and the offense sputters. Nothing about that scenario is good.
