It shouldn't be a big surprise to learn that a kid 13 games out of college has a few flaws. He needs time to learn. The fact the club is 11-2 with this boy under center must speak well for the future? At least l hope so...if he doesn't pan out...what happens next? Realistically Romo is at the end. Better hope Prescott is the real thing or it could be back to the dark days.

This was what the coaching staff signed up for when they made the decision keep Romo on the bench. And it was the right one. This team is a step out of bounds and a fumble on a slant route away from potentially being undefeated. I can live with Dak's growing pains.

I agree. Once RG3 runs were stifled, he became a so so QB. Prescott running for TD's and first downs was IMO what kept deffenses off balance. Prescott hasn't shown much in games were he is held behind the line of scrimmage. I don't know if his running game can last very long in the NFL without getting injured.

Yes. I, too, am curious to see how he makes out in the hard games ahead and next season. Nothing is a certainty. He seems to have the strenght and capabilities to be an NFL caliber QB and l certainly hope it turns out that way. The Cowboys have so much talent on the OL and Elliott will be great for at least his rookie deal and the club desperately needs the stud QB to take advantage of these assets. It will be a major setback if Prescott is not that stud.

Few things:
BOTH of Dak's interceptions were on Dez...slipped on the first and ran wrong route on 2nd...at about 3/4 speed too.

All this talk is doing is pushing Romo out the door. NO WAY is he around next year so this argument doesn't persist.

Obviously last game or two for Dak have been less than what he was in previous ones. However, playcalling and schemes seem a lot different...especially in the running game.

He'll be fine. With the crappy NFL TV ratings, we'll been deep in the playoffs considering how high the ratings are when we play. That's why they flexed tonight's game. It's a business. Remember that. It pays to have us around...always has.

You are right on all counts. The Cowboys ARE great for business. Prescott should be fine and it must be expected that he will have loses. wth, that comes with the job. I am still shocked that he has performed so well coming out of College certainly has surpassed all reasonable expectations.

How many passes did Greg Cossell throw in his NFL career? He is questioning Dak for throwing an 18 yard reception?? Give me a break.

Through most of this season, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott played like a veteran.

Recently, some of the concerns about Prescott coming out of college and some concerns we see with all rookie quarterbacks have been showing up with more regularity.

What I’ve noticed with Prescott – even before his below-average games against the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants – is that he isn’t seeing things as clearly as he did earlier in the season. He is leaving throws on the field. That has been a slight but noticeable trend, and it continued against the Giants.

Prescott missed a big play against the Giants late in the first half. This might have even been a touchdown. Cole Beasley ran a go route from the slot over the top of the defense but Prescott didn’t process it for some reason. Instead, he threw to Terrance Williams on a dig route on the same side of the field.

Again, he’s not seeing things as clearly as he did earlier in the season. This could have been a game-changing touchdown right before halftime.

These types of articles are a joke. You can probably take film of every QB in the league and find plays that they didn't throw to the best option. if the Cowboys won last week, none of these articles would be coming up. Anyone that buys into this needs to relax. Dak will have bad plays just like every QB in the league. Every QB throws INTs. Doesn't matter who's fault it is. S**T happens.

Cosell's right that Dak's starting to play like a rookie.

The one thing I've noticed of late is indecision. Earlier in the year, he'd throw with velocity and confidence. Now, he seems to be holding on longer and second guessing himself on throws. The second INT to Bryant was probably the only time it resulted in a turnover, though.

As fans, we have no reason to be so cutthroat about Dak/Romo. Dak has put us in position to compete for a Super Bowl--as a rookie. He's done amazing. Anyone who disputes this is full of crap. But he's been hitting a wall. If he continues, we have a more accomplished and elite QB waiting in the wings. Both of these guys are good guys. Romo took a backseat when he had to--for the team. Dak, if it comes to it, will do the same. The team is more important than an individual player's ego. And something tells me that Dak understands that.

I doubt either of these guys are as confrontational about this situation as we are.

No I am sick of people like you and all the Romo lovers acting like he is Joe Montana when failed numerous times

2008-started every game and we missed the playoffs
2011-started every game and we missed the playoffs
2012-started every game and we missed the playoffs
2013-started 15 games and we missed the playoffs

In 2008, Brad Johnson started 3 games after Romo broke his pinkie.
In 2011, Romo had 4184 yards, 31 TD's and 10 INT's, with a 66% completion rate. His QB rating for the year was 102.5. I'm not sure what else you can ask of your QB. In 2012, the guy threw for almost 5,000 yards. And let's not forget Orton the final game of 2013.

And in 2013 (?) we might have had the worst defense in the history of the game and certainly there was a stretch where we had the worst defense in the history of this franchise. We lost games in absolutely improbable ways as our HC was learning on the job. The only reason those teams even had a remote chance during some of those years were because of Romo.

This season is as much about Zek and the D as it is about Dak (who has played well within the system). Romo has been saddled with a learn on the job HC and a horrific D during that stretch. His best years were wasted and I don't put that totally on Romo.

That's not why.

For the first time in over two decades we have a legitimate shot of getting back to the Super Bowl.

From what I'm been reading a lot of fans feel that Dak is experiencing real rookie struggles. There's nothing wrong with that and under different circumstances he would be afforded a learning curve. But at what expense this year? There's no guarantee that we get this far next season.

So the way I see it, if he continues to struggle and it starts to really impact this playoff and SB run, then put Romo in! Let's see if he can take us the next step. Because if Dak keeps playing like he has the last few games then we are one and done anyway.

Seriously? We had legit chances in 07 and for sure in 14 this isn't the first legit chance. The coaches have done a great job of hiding Daks rookie weaknesses and have designed great game plans for him.

But the problem is that defenses are catching up to it. Gotta hope he can overcome it today, but I'm not betting on it because he is a rookie QB and it does take time.

It is ironic that the annointed "savior" can suddenly become the detriment seemingly overnight.

All exuses. What did Romo do in that 2012 win or go home game? Choked it away all by himself, that's what.

You mean 2007 and 2014 with an even better shot were figments of our imagination? Bettter QB, running back setting league records, better defense, better coaching and play calling. One and done being led by someone I wouldn't mind seeing bac in now but by no means do I feel any more confident based on past performance. Maybe knowledge but thats where it ends.
