Hardy still leads the Cowboys in Sacks (4.5)

A reality and indictment of the rest of our D line capability at this point. Didn't realize it but Jared Allen plays for Carolina. To me Hardy, when in real game shape ( I don't think he is) has to be as valuable to us as Allen to Carolina. Therefore on the right deal keep him and hope the Gregory's, Lawrence, etc develop.

The D, comparatively is keeping us in games lately ...

You can't blame the losing season on him. Romo and Dez being out is why we couldn't win a game. You don't just give up on great pass rusher in their prime.

Agree, also if you look at the history of the NFL its a once in a decade event for a young passrusher with 10+ sacks in a season to be available in FA. Its once in two decades that you can get a guy like that in FA on a reasonable contract.

Its also a once in a decade event that a top 15 pass rush talent like Gregory drops to your pick at the end of the 2nd round. We have a gift horse, we should let it get healthy and stop looking it in the mouth.

I know we have more things to worry about than Hardy. But, is it just me or has he been an absolute NO SHOW? I was probably one of the few that was excited by his signing. But he has been all talk no walk. I think its time to cut ties with him and let the young guys get some much needed playing time.

On another note I think its time to really start looking at drafting Romo's replacement. I think he has one maybe two years left in him. What a waste of talent. He had a bad game yesterday but he will never get the credit he deserves because we more than likely wont win a SB while he is here :-/ I really hope I am wrong.

Perhaps Hardy's value drops to the point of making him a cheap resign. That is the only way I even consider bringing him back. He has been a major disappointment on the field and I suspect also a cancer of sorts in the locker room.

I said draft a QB 2 years ago..... While I appreciate all Romo has brought to this team, we have desperately needed an Aaron Rodgers type waiting in the wings... Still waiting..

So are 31 other teams in the NFL.

I don't care about 31 other teams. I care about the future of the Dallas Cowboys which currently looks grim (both near with Romo and distant with basic thinkers holding many positions of power in the front office).

The Giants are so desperate for some pass rush they brought back a 3 fingered JPP to help the defense. I'm sure the Giants would be happy to sign Hardy next year.

I'm not blaming Hardy for the losses but the point is we're not winning with him and with him being a distraction he's not going to be worth the trouble he could potentially bring. Teams will put up with a lot when a player is helping them win games but the Cowboys are 1-6 with Hardy and some of those losses were with Dez on the field and Romo. Hardy has caused several problems since he signed with the Cowboys including having a physical altercation with a coach during a game after just serving a suspension for putting his hands on someone. There's reports he's missed meetings and Jerry just had a talk with him. Hardy hasn't made much of an impact the past few weeks and everything is pointing to him not coming back.

He was complaining of asthma during Sundays game he would have ended up on Jimmy's asthma field back in the day. The Giants brought back JPP because he's been dealing with an injury not an assault charge. He doesn't have the off the field concerns Hardy has and believe me if the Cowboys do end up letting him go I don't think there will be as many teams as you think looking to sign him. If the Cowboys let him go with the system they have in place to help players that's going to be a big red flag to every team in the league that he's not worth the trouble.

I don't know what you Hardy haters are watching but I see a guy that is a fraction of a second from getting a sack on just about every play he is in. Just about all you can ask for from a guy is to put constant heat on the QB. I wouldn't think twice about re-signing him if the price is right.

Agree, and I also think its wildly overblown to say he is a distraction. He is a distraction to die hard fans on message boards but we dont see anything pointing to him being polarizing or distracting in the locker room. Garrett gets more questions as his presser, but if you asked him whether he would prefer Hardy and more questions or George Selvie back and less press questions - is there any question what the answer would be?

Hardy is history.

it was purely an experiment and this stuff never works out.

I wish we would stop this rescue football approach..it gives us so much negative press and that coupled with our teams tendency to shrink from adversity is a Killer.

I'm tired of being the ridicule of the league and we bring it on ourselves.

The defense isn't the main reason Dallas lost on Thursday. It was the offense.

Hardy is doing his job. The others are not.

Hardy will have a half dozen suitors. Dallas already absorbed the media backlash.

The secondary is suspect. Has been all year.

Dez and Romo played one complete game together-- one-- and that was in Miami last week.

Let me be clear. I'm not in the category of a "Hardy hater". I LOVE what he has brought to our defensive line on the field. He motivates others and, like many of us have seen, is always in the backfield. You can't coach that. It's just inside. That said, what is happening in the locker room? I wonder and I feel my curiosity is justified. Here's the problem... You have a "basic" head coach that can barely coach his RKG. To ask him to somehow motivate guys that don't quite fit his RKG agenda... Well.. That's like asking Baghdad Bob to tell us where the stuff is located. It just isn't happening. Our illustrious head coach continues to demonstrate that he fits very nicely into the Jerry Jones Stepford clay mold. He does just enough to get back to stacking claps on top of claps without his seat getting warm.

What? You said that like you know what is going on in the locker room and how Jason Garrett operates away from the view of the media cameras. You don't know jack. Your speculation has got the best of you. You've convinced yourself you know something that you can't possibly know because you aren't there and you don't see how things are actually handled. You read what the media has served up and bit into it hook, line and sinker. Remember what the Big Tuna once said... consider yourself sucked.

What I don't get is that we have spent all these high draft picks and free agent money on defensive line and our pass rush is about as ferocious as a pack of hamsters.

Can you prove otherwise? Hmmmm. I'll wait for that camera footage of inspirational conduct in the locker room since you obviously have those ins.

By the way, I looked up the definition of "basic" and a picture of Garrett smacked me in the face.

"Basic" is for YMCA ball.

"Basic" is for participation trophies.

This is the NFL which does stand for Not For Long unless you happen the be the yes man that fetches Jerry's morning paper..

Did Hardy get in a shouting match with reporters? No, that was Dez. Did Hardy get caught talking about his teammates behind there backs? No that was Randle. Hardy's teammates haven't said a single negative thing about him since signing with the team so how is he a problem in the locker room. It's only when the media surrounds him asking stupid questions is there any problem and it's not Hardy causing it, it's the media. Romo and Witten have both said from their interaction with him he seems to be a solid guy. I don't need footage of inspirational locker room behavior to prove anything. I'm not the one making accusations about him so it should be you providing the footage of him.

Hardy: "If you clap and slap my butt one more time, I'm going to knock your carrot top off"
JG: "Calm down. Calm down. I promise I won't touch your butt again but can I still clap?"
