Doesn't mean he can't be signed as HC for another team. Just means that there would probably have to be some compensation given up.

The agreement was that he would not be a HC for any other team this year.

*shrugs* The Skins beat us last time not b/c of Williams' creative blitzes, but it was b/c our OL was SO bad, he, like everyone else, had the luxury of just rushing 3 or 4 guys.

Unless we get our own OL straightened out, even "Mr. Nice Guy"'s schemes will work against our O.

Good move on the part of the skins and Williams IMO.

I can't imagine having teenage kids, and just move them around and around.

A lot of folks in D.C. feel that there is a wink wink deal for Williams to take over when Gibbs leaves the sidelines (But keeps his Team President job).

As far as guys who have failed being HC's, and then got other chances. I think of a guy in New England who did it that way, and got it right. Hopefully Williams learned the formula this time around, and when he takes over....its seemless.

Buffalo still has so many problems you can poke holes through. Donahoe really dug a grave for that team-sadly, Williams has ZERO to work with.

Good move by the Commanders.

Meanwhile we have Zimmer. :puke:

And a Coach who has to think about if he wants to coach the Cowboys anymore.

well, look at it this way. Philly is going to lose their offensive guy to Minny....and Reid still thinks he's the QB coach in Green Bay with his gameplan.

Why does this kind of topic stay in the Cowboys Zone?

This means jack to me and what do we have an NFL Zone for?

not being sarcastic...just a question

The stipulation is that he can't interview for a HC'ing job this year.
I have no opinion regarding the Williams/Commanders deal specifically, but I do have a question about the contract as related to all coaches in general.

Do you know for a fact that the contract he signed forbids him from taking another job with another team? This doesn't sound like something the NFL would agree to let happen, because if they do then I can forsee every team making this a standard part of their coaching contracts which would really hurt teams who need new coaches.

where esle but on this board do the coordinators take all the brunt. Do you guys think that Bill should shoulder some of the burden. Why are asst. being asked in for interviews if they are so terrible

This is a brilliant move by the skins.

Williams IS the Commanders right now, IMO. He will be the eventual successor to Gibbs, maybe after next season.

I am critical when they do stupid stuff, but this is smart.

Greg Williams is a MONSTER D/C...I have to respect him for that....

Now Zimmer needs to get some calls....So does Peyton!!!

Let's move Zimmer and sign Dom Capers in here for D/C THIS WEEK!!!!

MOVE FAST PArcells/Jones.....

What a fool- he will never be head coach of that team. After Gibbs flames out next year and they finish 3-13 in Campbell's first year Snyder will fire the whole staff.

This is bad news for us and the division. He's clearly gonna succeed Gibbs.

Nice move by the Commanders......Gibbs knows that you are as good as your assistants. HC are managers of the team.....the assistants do all the coaching.

Commanders fans are the most delusional fans in the NFL. Go to that ES board and see how they are all glorifying Snyder like he is God. They have done a complete 180 and now thinks he is the best owner in the NFL. True, nothing against Snyder because i believe an owner should spend to better the team but Snyder has screwed up their salary cap by the ridiculous contracts he has doled out.
