I could have told you long ago that our defenses were similiar stats wise

Dallas' problem is their D fell apart in December, and started giving up big plays

Washington's D had problems in November, giving up big runs, but fixed that by December and had a dominating entrance to the playoffs

I don't hate Zimmer and think the defense has played very effectively with some notable exceptions. But what I don't understand, and perhaps some more knowledge people can explain this to me, is why do our blitz packages seem so ineffective? Whenver the defense does blitz it seems that our players always run into opposing blockers even when we outnumber them.

I keep hearing how aggressive Greg Williams would make our D be if he were our D-coordinator, so I decided to look up each team's defensive rankings for this regular season, and I chose the 2 most important ones, scoring D, and takeaways....pretty interesting results came up

note: Zimmer's 1st year calling 3-4 defensive plays, and starting 2 rookies and 2 1st year players all 16 games, as opposed to Williams 2nd year running the Skin's 4-3, w/ only 1 1st year player starting all 16 games

Washington Commander's scoring D, 2005:

18.3 ppg allowed, gave up 32 TDs

Dallas Cowboy's scoring D, 2005:

19.2 ppg allowed, gave up 35 TDs

Commander takeaways, 2005:

28; 16 INTs, 12 fumbles

Cowboy takeaways, 2005:

26; 15 INTs, 11 fumbles

Commander's total defensive ranking: 9th

Cowboy's total defensive ranking: 10th

shoot, here's some more

average yards per play Washington allowed:

4.9

average yards per play Dallas allowed:

5.1

rushing D, Commanders:13th Cowboys: 15th

rushing yards allowed per game, Commanders:

105.4

Dallas:

108.2

average yards per carry against Commander D:

4.1

average yards per carry against Cowboy D:

4.2

rushing TDs against Commander D:

15

Dallas:

13

20+ yard runs against Commander D:

11

Dallas:

7

Pass D, Washington: 10th, Dallas: 11th

passing yards per game allowed, Commanders:

192.6

Dallas:

192.7

passing TDs allowed, Commanders:

15

Dallas:

18

SACKS, Washington:

35

Dallas:

37

so is Greg WIlliams that much better than Zimmer?

Did even consider Washington's front 4 vs our top 5 DL?

What kind of numbers do you think Glover, Ellis, Ware, Canty, and Spears would put up in William's scheme?

And vice versa..how would we do if we had Salavea, Griffin, Wynn and Daniels under s**thead?

Id bet our 5 youngin's under Williams would help us exceed the 50 sack mark

And Id bet we'd be hard pressed to get 20 sacks with the Skins 4 some

Its a good thing Washington keeps sending away draft picks and mismanaging the cap, and doesnt have Jeff Ireland to run their draft

I bet If you and I were both 6-7/320 I'd be a better offensive tackle than you.

I bet my dad can beat up your dad.

All hypothetical BS that can't be backed up by any facts.

You're a sorry ...

Ive got a 5 day old daughter fighting for her life after open heart surgery and you have to come over here and continue your agenda against me

Please, just introduce yourself to me at the draft...

In the meanwhile, go back to your home site, continue to alienate and run it farther into the ground

So much of this "Skins came on late in the season" stuff seems to assume that every team plays an equally difficult season in the first and second half of the year. The Skin's schedule became much easier in the latter half of the year.

Looking at their 5 game winning streak that took them into the playoffs they played

St Louis (6-10)
Arizona (5-11)
Dallas (9-7) at Home
Giants (11-5) at Home
Philly (6-10)

The Skins only played two teams with winning records in the last five games, and both of those teams at home. I think just taking first and second half stats for Offense or Defense would greatly be affected by schedule strength.

At the end of the day what seperated the Skins from the Cowboys was minimal at best this year. Both teams will have to get much better to actually have a chance to dominate again.

What agenda? He answered your hypothetical post with another hypothetical post. I am sorry about your daughter but no reason to start attacking people for no reason.

Not to mention Dallas' final few games

Dever
Giants
Chiefs
Commanders
Panthers
Rams

I see 4 playoff teams 2 of the final 4 and 5 teams with winning records there

Seriously!

As if you don't have an agenda which is obvious to anyone.

All anti-Zimmer.

Zero facts.

Just hypothetical, mindless drivel.

Godspeed to your daughter.

Not sure what that has to do with anything.

PS:
I'm pretty sure I'm not the one that caused that

Who would you rather have?

2 rookies and 2 part-time players, in a new scheme, as opposed to 4 veterans in the same scheme they've been running for ages

and the fact that the job of Dlineman in the 3-4 is to tie up blockers, not get sacks

so yeah
