So explain this to me.

Why the hell does it take the NFL so long to figure this sutff out? So they still aren't sure Gregory is a 10 game victim? Lane Johnson was notified 5 weeks ago he failed and coudl be facing a 10 game suspension and yet he's going to play this weekend because apparently the "B" test results aren't in yet after those 5 weeks.

The NFL is likely waiting for the result of his rehab before they come to a decision.

Doesn't explain why the NFL doesn't have an answer on Lane Johnson almost a month and half after notifying him he failed on the first sample and now are waiting on results of the "b" sample.

That one is likely dealing with an appeal. The process is supposed to be confidential. Except when it comes to the Cowboys apparently. That they broke the silence even to correct an erroneous press report gives Gregory's camp a grievance.

Has Ganjory shown anything when he did play that should have us on a watch for his return? He's been pretty much why other teams avoided him in the draft and even if he only catches 4 games, what kind of playing shape is he going to be in? He's done nothing football in over a year.

So Gregory could play during his appeal?

Nope. The appeal isn't the hold up. Lane Johnson said he has not been informed yet by the NFL on the results of the "b" test. He even said he's not even sure if he will appeal or not when the results do come in. So until that test comes in, Johnson is slated to start this weekend at RT.

Not a fan of BTB, but since you ask and in case you didn't see it yesterday, there was a look at a couple of his games from last season here.

Thanks for the link. I've been saying all along that Gregory has the goods. The first Giants game he was pushing their linemen into the backfield until he hurt his ankle. I still don't believe he was fully recovered.

If he can just get his pot addiction under wraps, he's going to be a terror. But I can't count on him just yet. He has a long way to go off-field. I like this assessment by BTB/Jim Scott:

Randy Gregory is absolutely the missing pass rush piece this team needs so badly. As a rookie he showed tremendous speed, strength, leverage and length, lateral agility, and used a variety of well-developed pass rush moves successfully against quality NFL tackles. He is the Real Deal and from that perspective was an outstanding pick. Of course, his troubles were well-known and documented and you could argue that makes him a bad pick. But those of you who wanted something done about the pass rush, this was and should be your guy. He’s a stud in the making, if he can get back to the process.

Physically, he's the real deal, for sure.

I feel bad for the dude, because he's obviously got a real struggle going on. I've put him out-of-sight, out-of-mind. Like I have for Jaylon Smith. If both those guys can make it to the team and contribute, it'd be huge for us. I'm just not counting on it until I see it.

My sentiments exactly. Excited about the potential they bring, but until they get on the field consistently, I'm getting my hopes up.

In a perfect world, Gregory gets his pot/mental issues under better control, Jaylon Smith fully heals, and we draft Marlon Humphreys (CB-Alabama) late in the first round. DE, LB, CB in three consecutive drafts.

Not since he already had a 4 game suspension that was upheld.......he is appealing an extra 6 games to make it 10 games total or another 10 games to make it 14 games total.....

It is an additional 10 games, so if upheld he would miss 14 games of the upcoming season. He would then also be 1 step away from at least a 1 year ban.

Are the details out about how Bell, the serial offender, got his reduced?

He missed a test after his surgery and said he couldn't get there...but he missed a couple other tests as well, one he mocked on Twitter because it was 5:30AM....NFL took a settlement instead of going to an arbitrator......got 3 games instead of 4, not a huge difference but his next miss will only count as another 4 games and not 10 games

That article says it was supposed to come around now. NFL works at a glacial pace. Don't expect me to defend Goodell.
