Got more out of him than I'd expected.

What did others of you see?

I saw him holding his side on a couple of plays. I thought he was winded, but seems like someone said he was injured. I don't. Expect a lot from him

You can tell that setting the edge against the run will never be his strength but you see the raw talent as a edge rusher.

That's exactly it IMO, but they knew that when they drafted him. OCs can run at him but he has pass rushing skills that can't be taught. It didn't show up in the box score but he had a hit on Stafford where he came from the opposite side, sliced between several DL and got a good hit on Stafford as he threw the ball. It wasn't a sack, but few DEs have those type of movement skills.

Started out horrible and played his way to bad :D

He pretty much sucked on all run plays but one and even got a hit on the QB late. He has another game to improve.......I hope :(

He'll be fine against the run if he can actually get on the field.

I think he looked pretty decent in pass rushing, all things considered. You could tell he was hand battling quite a bit and not relying on 1 rushing method over another.

From the sky CAM what he was doing to get to Stafford just didn't look normal to what everyone else was doing.

He's got the gift as a pass rusher.

He needs to get bigger and more importantly he needs to play.

Did Bruce Irving ever get good at defending the run?

Agree, I think the best scenario is that he is the backup at RDE. He could get a lot of snaps and learn the game for a season or two rotating in.

Gregory was winded but he fought through it. Matter of fact, after one play, I saw Gregory gasping for air but impressively, he got solid pressure on the next play. Quite unfortunate he hasn't been on the field, he could've been a nice addition to the D.

From what i've seen of Bruce he never did but Bruce still to this day is a pass rush specialist and his presence is felt on 3rd down passing downs. If Gregory turns into that i'd be satisfied.

So bad that even Gruden (who rarely criticizes players) said something to the effect of: #1 run defense can't seem to stop the Lions who can't run the ball, but they do have Randy Gregory out there tonight.
