I doubt Randy gets his suspension overturned. Roger doesn't like getting egg on his face. The only place to go from here anyway is court. The NFL rules are clear and Gregory violated said rules. Case closed.

I will just wait and see. I don't have a problem with someone smoking. But Goodell seems to. Go in your house get drunk high or whatever, when I get pissed is when someone does that and then commits a real crime. As far as I can tell Randy is a nice guy that's trying to cope with his issues in an unhealthy way. I've been there, and it takes time to learn how to cope when all you know are drugs and alcohol.

He is eligible to request reinstatement in Jan 2018. The league is likely to "consider" the request for a couple of months (like Oakland's Aldon Smith; eligible Nov 2016, still waiting), so likely not until off season camps for 2018 season.

He is eligible to apply for reinstatement next November and could be allowed to play in the Playoffs in Jan...... but that is highly unlikely and Goodell wouldn't even rule until after the Playoffs like you said he did with Aldon Smith
