Is it official that he will get the 10 game suspension? Is there a possibility that he may only serve a 4 game after he gets out of rehad?

It's still 4 games. However, the way nobody on the team mentions him, I don't doubt it will eventually be 10

Somebody suggested that going to rehab would keep it from being 14 games (Original 4 plus 10 for the fail that occurred before the original 4 was served).

Yup. Sounds to me like rehab is a last ditch effort to shorten the suspention.

the silence on the Gregory suspension status is deafening, haven't hear a peep about it since the original news broke a couple months ago of another infraction and him checking into rehab. I am no expert on the discipline policy in the NFL but one would think him taking measures to directly address his addiction/issues would result in something positive on his suspension. Pretty much the whole punishment vs. rehabilitation schools of thought but with Goodell, I'm not holding my breath.....

That doesn't sound right. I thought, but could be wrong, that 3rd or 4th failure is 4 games, then the next is 10, and 10 total, not added on. Then the next is a year. Unless all of that has changed.
It may stay at 4 until he is out of rehab, then a meeting with the biased dictator. Then he may get some more games in spite of it all. At least 2 games is my bet, but possibly 6, making it that 10 games.

All speculation on my part, but not any different than any others. LOL.

In order for this defense to significantly improve, I think we're at least a year out and then some luck really has to come our way in the draft, health and free agency.

Can't argue against this at all.
We can only hope a few players can step up this year, and the D will surprise us, and be better than we hope. I think they can. But still not a top 12 D. All because we don't know how the pass rush will be.

By the same token if sobriety means that much to the player then what difference does it make if it is 4 week or 10? Is there a set date that Gregory stint at Rehab completed?

At this point you are better off just accepting he will never play another down. If he does, I will be shocked and it will be gravy.

This.

We've had enough disappointment by counting on him at all. Correct that mistake and make him prove it. Proceed as if he will never play again and anything you get will be a pleasant surprise. Proceed as if you're counting on him and you'll only be further disappointed.

Was just wondering about this earlier. It's strange there's been no formal announcement.

I honestly don't care though, I've taken everyone's advice and planning on never seeing him again. Will be a pleasant surprise if he ever gets back on the field whenever it may be

The fact that he voluntarily entered rehab might bring the NFLPA to his aid. But, it would come down to what position the league wants to take. What are they more interested in? Punishment or players getting their lives in order? Seems to me that his sign of contrition would go a long way to sending a signal to the players, show you're serious about following the rules and we'll show we can be lenient. Seems obvious to me that Ganjory's problem is a hell of a lot deeper than getting high. Whether he ever plays again, I am pulling for this kid to get his life right because I believe he loves his Mom and doesn't want to break her heart anymore than he has.

Man, it is easy to get pissed at these players and forget those are human beings in those unis and just because they get paid well doesn't "fix" them. I know, my usual reaction is too think 'what a dummy to give all that up to get high' but doesn't that signal a deeper problem in his case?

I hope he went to rehab to get his life in order as opposed to doing it just to lessen the suspension. If he is not there to tackle this problem and it is a problem for him, then he is there for the wrong reason.

Yes, he is just kind of in the background now, if he comes back and contributes, great. But if someone can step up in the mean time, even better. However, I wouldn't hang my hat on him for future services either. If a DE is there in the draft next year, take him.

I honestly wish him well.......but it's a damn shame.

I was anticipating his play almost as much as I do for Zeke and Dak.

I think he could actually be an outstanding athlete.

DO NOT want to see him in a documentary 10 years down the road portrayed as a complete failure.

Once they enter rehab, there are no announcements made until they come out. And I agree about preparing as if he's gone.

Manziel went in and came out worse. And he went to that one in CA where all the celebrities go, probably nothing but top shelf whiskey.

can't argue with that....I was coming from the angle of his suspension handed down by the league in lieu of him taking corrective measures. But yes and in the big picture, him getting healthy is most important, not my personal enjoyment watching him contribute to the Cowboy's 2016 season! :)

Ah ok, didn't know that was a policy. Thanks for the info

Sidenote. You will all be happy to know that I just played the jags on madden and on my first drive zeke carried Ramsey into the end zone on his back. You're welcome
