Guaranteed pro bowl player

Let's play the what if game.

If you were guaranteed our 1st pick in the upcoming NFL draft was a guaranteed, multi year pro bowl type player, excluding qb, what position would be most helpful in your opinion?

I could see a solid case for DE for obvious reasons, but this team desperately needs a talent upgrade at safety and linebacker as well.

That said, I also love the idea of having a pro bowl caliber guy next to Booker. The right side of the OL would be good for a decade.
Caleb Downs Safety - Ohio State.

The question for me is always: For what position would i get the most when i try to trade him right before his rookie contracts ends?

That would be my pick.

Thats always excluding QB. QB would be the only position id hand a sec contract. But only and thats ONLY if he is a franchise type one.

Every other position i trade if i get more than i spent drafting it. Thats how you build thru the draft.

So whod i take? I guess pass rusher. 2nd option would be LT.

I hate to say it, but If I could add 1 pro-bowl caliber player to the Cowboys it would have to be Edge. A 10-12 sack guy would probably make the greatest impact right now.

But OT, LB, S, CB and TE would all make a huge impact.

When Dallas drafts next April this should be their mindset. Find an all pro caliber player regardless of position. If they are drafting in the top 5 I think it has to be LT or Edge depending on who is available. If there is a Tyron Smith in this draft, take him. Move Guyton to RT and waive Steele.
Oh wait didn’t the cowturds have that guy?
Didn’t your numbskull owner just say you had enough talent on your team to replace his production?

I don't listen to him anymore. He is an idiot when it comes to football.

I'm sorry, but there is just no excluding QB. We've been excluding QB for 35 years, and it hasn't gotten us a whole lot, has it?

But yes, a absolute all world DT would be a game changer.

Coverage safety. No defensive line is going to be able to sack the QB when they have guys running wide open and can quickly get the ball out.

LOL...majority of Dallas fans always take the bait. We've had tons of great Olines. Tons of great wide receivers-even running backs. At least 2 very serviceable quarterbacks. Never had a great defensive player except the one Jerry just sent packing. So, keep drafting Olineman and offense as a whole. You'll have thirty more years of what you've gotten.NO DEFENSE! NO RINGS!!! Guaranteed!!! Draft any quarterback or any Olineman. Going to get the same results.

A Micah Parsons type player to build the defense around. But the chances of finding one are not high.

Defensive Tackle

Name me one season in the past 50 years that a Cowboys team reaching the NFC championship game didn't have at least one top 5 overall draft pick in the DT position.

Randy White

John Dutton

Russel Maryland

Tony Cassilas

The Cowboys need a top-quality DT to anchor their D-line for the next ten seasons.

DT!!!

Stephen Jones, is that you?
Another 1st on the offensive line?

I mean at this point, a legit probowl player anywhere on defense would be huge.
Corner, Safety, DE, LB who isn't made of glass, DT
The defensive side is dying. Literally.
