Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was the fourth overall pick in last Thursday’s draft, but he’s first overall in jersey sales among NFL rookies.

That’s right, #21 is #1 when it comes to national sales through the first full week after the draft, according to Fanatics.com. And thanks to Elliott’s popularity, the Cowboys have been the highest-selling team nationally on Fanatics.com since draft day.

The two top QBs that were drafted ahead of Elliott are in his rearview mirror. Carson Wentz, the second overall pick by the Philadelphia Eagles, was the second-best selling jersey. As for the overall #1 pick of the draft, quarterback Jared Goff of the Rams? He’s currently third behind Elliott and Wentz.

Another quarterback who was selected in the first round, Paxton Lynch, did not crack the top 3 among NFL rookies, but he did propel his team – the Broncos – to the second highest selling team, trailing only the Cowboys.

I do find it (amusing?) that as long as it's been since a SB this franchise blows the doors off tons of categories like this. It's truly a fascinating feat. If this team were to become a patriot like (in terms of championships) in the near future I can not imagine the bandwagon that would accompany and records it would set.

It's the curse that enables the Jones idiots to keep fielding a middling effort decade after decade. Their collective take on a per playoff win basis has to be 20x that of their closest rival over the past 20 years.

I really wish they would have picked another number for him. Any number but 21 really.

Was just about to say this!!! I hate the number.

Same with Gregory's! Should have been 99.

Didn't they say his number could still change? People who already bought the jersey could be s.o.l. I'm sure these sales will solidify his #21 status, though.

If it's possible to change his number then they probably haven't shipped them yet.
