Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was the fourth overall pick in last Thursday’s draft, but he’s first overall in jersey sales among NFL rookies.
That’s right, #21 is #1 when it comes to national sales through the first full week after the draft, according to Fanatics.com. And thanks to Elliott’s popularity, the Cowboys have been the highest-selling team nationally on Fanatics.com since draft day.
The two top QBs that were drafted ahead of Elliott are in his rearview mirror. Carson Wentz, the second overall pick by the Philadelphia Eagles, was the second-best selling jersey. As for the overall #1 pick of the draft, quarterback Jared Goff of the Rams? He’s currently third behind Elliott and Wentz.
Another quarterback who was selected in the first round, Paxton Lynch, did not crack the top 3 among NFL rookies, but he did propel his team – the Broncos – to the second highest selling team, trailing only the Cowboys.
