Actually Dez wanted to sign a contract with the Cowboys before the season started. It was his agent that wanted Dez to hold out for more market value. Dez didn't care so much of getting market value he just wanted a contract. Thus this is the reason why Dez fired his agent and went with Roc.

How do you know this? Do you have a source? Thats not what I heard Dez say in an interview today but thats not the kind of thing I would think you would say publicly.

What I've heard is that Jerry didn't want Dez signing with the new agency which implies problems with the negotiation imo

And I hope I'm right. Dez is having a down season STATISTICALLY due to us running the ball and having Weeden for a game. I could be wrong, but maybe Dez gears up with a new agency because he knew Dallas wants to negotiate over the break and things weren't working with his other agent in the negotiations process. Bryant has also always been a second half of the season explosion, so the Cowboys may want to catch him while his stats are lower.

This is totally a guess, and I could be totally wrong. Just have a gut feeling Dez Bryant will be a long term Cowboy before the Giants game

Dez could careless what his numbers are. He just switched his agent for reason...he is thinking about the money. I can also envision him sitting out if Dallas franchises him.

RocNation is a great agent for Dez. They aren't all about signing big contracts. They are all about endorsements. Thats the reason why players like Suh wants to go to New York because its all about endorsements and not the contracts. Thats what today's NFL agents don't focus on except for RocNation.

Endorsements was how Michael Jordan became a billionaire. If it weren't for endorsements he would be nothing more than a multi-millionaire. Labron James was an inch close to signing with the NY basketball team. Thats because that basketball team has a good relationship with RocNation and would have made James more money than Michael Jordan.

I believe this is good for Bryant and for Dallas as well. Bryant would now be more willing to sign on for a cap friendly contract because he knows he will be making more money on endorsements. Of course I could be wrong. But it will allow the Cowboys and Bryant more wiggle room when it comes with NFL contracts. Like I said, endorsements is where the money is at and this is where I believe Bryant wants to go.

Bryant is doing the right thing. He wants to remain I Cowboy for his entire life. It was his agent that wanted more money not Bryant.

Read below on where I got my source:

That sounds great! Hope it's all accurate

Keep 'low balling' him Jer... Don't let the Jigga Man slick talk you into overpaying this overrated dude. Hold your ground

Re sign our best player(reasonable)... Demarco Murray

oh please...if Jerry has been guilty of anything its been over-paying his home grown talent....to a fault. Maybe Dallas just wants some protection in contract in case Dez can't control himself once off-field restrictions are lifted.

Guaranteed. Don't waste a second of your time worrying about it. He wants to be in Dallas and the team wants him to stay. It gets done one way or the other. He'd have to have an off the field incident to change things.

I think Dez will be back. Too much worry.

Big time wideouts don't win championships...

When was the last time a top receiver was on a Super Bowl winning team?

Do you have a source to back up this claim he gets doubled more than any receiver in the league?

Again, top receivers get doubled all the time. You don't think Moss was ever doubled? All the time. If you can't fight double teams and are easily taken out of a game, then what is the point of giving him a huge contract? You are not making a valid argument in his favor. In fact, quite the opposite. You are saying all you have to do is double him and that's all it takes.

The offense can throw the ball to HOF Tight End Jason Witten, rush the ball with Demarco Murray, how is having a historical season, throw the ball to T. Williams and Beasley, who are capable receivers in their own right, or we can force the ball to Dez so he can have gaudy 'elite receiver' stats. If Dez leaves, watch what happens when we get to the red zone.

If I'm reading the tea leaves correctly, I think there is a wide disparity between the deal the team has offered vs. what Dez wants. I predict we'll use the franchise tag on him.

I didn't catch the interview so I not so sure what to make of it. I did list a source on one of my later postings. Just look back a bit and you'll find it.

I think he deserves to get paid, but not like a top 2-3 WR in the league. He has too many 5 for 60 games for my liking and just doesn't seem to be making the big plays this year. He's not in the same category as Calvin Johnson, AJ Green, Antonio Brown or Josh Gordon but he's on par with Jordy Nelson, Vincent Jackson and Demaryius Thomas.

I think Jordy Nelson is better. But I think Bryant is better than Josh Gordon and Antonio Brown.

Jordy got a 4 year 39 million dollar extension. This is probably what we are using as out basis. Dez is porbably using Calvin and Fitzgerald as his basis.

4 year 42 million seems fair to me. Dez is younger but Jordy is better.
