I don't know about that last part.

You wouldn't know unless you actually played one and tried it out. I was skeptical about it too. Later on, after I get back home, I'll find you just how many metal players are using PRS.

Gibson is hurting these days. Not as many people are buying Les Pauls anymore.

And rightfully so. The quality control at Gibson has been in the crapper for years. Like Harley Davidson did for years, Gibson is surviving on a reputation of quality that that they no longer adhere to. I've been to tons of music stores from Guitar Centers (hack racks) to fine music stores and played everything on the wall and stored away. Gibson is by far the most hit and miss guitar that you can buy. Considering the price they charge for inferior gear, I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep if they disappeared altogether. I've played Edwards and Burny "Les Pauls" that were superior in every single way for a fraction of the cost. That didn't use to be the case. There was a time when a Gibson Les Paul was the cream of the crop. Over the past decade or so that brand name has been whored out to sell an inferior product at a premium price. They've turned a rock and roll icon into a modern day joke. Sadly, far too many people still fall for it.

They're actually great metal guitars. A pick up switch to something hotter and a low action set up and a PRS will go toe to toe with any shredder out there.

The new Torrero model is a MONSTER. First PRS loaded with a Floyd Rose. Loaded with an EMG 81/85 set that thing will set your hair on fire. For real, bro.

Hey, I agree with you. I've played some nice Les Paul's that weren't as much as the 5k ones they sell now. I appreciate the Les Paul, which is why I got the PRS Ted McCarty® model. He was the heart and soul of Gibson. When he left, it all went downhill. Now, PRS, in my opinion is what Gibson once was.

Some are very versatile and some just stink up the joint. It's true, hit or miss.
