Gut feeling this is Tony Pollard's last season in Dallas

I don't see him getting a long term contract or franchised again. I suspect that Dallas will let him go and draft a guy somewhere in the top 3 rounds.

You're probably right, but it will depend on what he does this year and how the market plays out. Currently no rbs are getting big money and that might drive him right back to Dallas.

I said during the offseason this would be his last season. He’s coming off of career high in carries last season and will surpass that this season if he stays healthy. They’ll likely make him a reasonable offer and allow him to test free agency. They’re not about to pay big money to an RB with CeeDee and Parsons contracts coming up.

That's a pretty safe bet. It's just the current nature of the position in today's NFL. Let them play out the rookie, franchise them if they're still good, but don't be the ones to get saddled with the second contract.

Not sure we won't franchise him again since that seems to be around the going rate for RBs. Gives us another year to find his replacement, so we could add another late-round back to the mix to compete with Vaughn and the UDFAs. If no one steps up, then we take one higher the next year.

He's a very good player. But he's not the kind of elite RB you pay big $. Pick up a vet, draft a RB in the middle of the draft, go from there.

There's always the chance no one will pay him and we can get him back for a middling deal.

I feel like if we win the NFC and come short in the superbowl Pollard will likely want to resign 1 year on a team friendly deal to try and get it done in 2024. The core of this team is built to win in the next 2-3 years if not this year so who wouldn't want to be apart of that.

Probably not, although it's early. I doubt he gets tagged again unless he turns it on. Maybe a 2-3 year cheap extension. If I had to guess, I'd say the wheels have turned and to seek younger legs. I honestly think that until proven otherwise, our RBs have some things to prove moving forward. JMO

Yes, unless he takes a massively good deal to stay. The #1 indicator was 32 touches last game.

Dallas needs to read the tea leaves and concentrate on the offensive line. Father Time has a way of making older players obsolete. Creating holes and protecting the passing game should be at the crux of the team's attention.

Pollard is a good back. With the right offensive line, good backs will always be available.

Definitely need to invest in the offensive line

I'm sure you saw my Tony Pollard thread so yeah I I'm agreement I mean the way he finished last year the way he started this year he's a solid back but there's no way we're keeping this dude unless he wants to stay here cheap....

I mean i'm sort of expecting it. Unless he re-signs on a bargain deal. This was always a rental. Their team is stacked. They can afford to go into the draft next year and pick the best back available in the 1st round and have him for 5 years.

I was thinking that too. If he comes back it will be a modest 1 year deal.

really really they they they're not ever bringing in any players on the offensive line like Tyler Smith, ASim Richards and the guys they brought in this year like bass and a doga and Hoffman and but dude I can't even name them all they are investing they have been they just paid Zach Martin big time money on area they just paid Terrence Steele on area and again they got some dudes they just drafted the last two drafts they're gonna work into the line that is investments I mean I don't know where you guys are watching but so far the depth the first couple games are pretty good..

You act like this team has never put good players in the offensive line and invested in it they continue to invest in it every year they're trying to bring in players whether it's in the draft undrafted free agents or free agents to try to fill these holes...
Some of y'all just like to exaggerate
