They gotta pay Biadasz, CeeDee, Micah, O'Diggy....

Pollard had better play really special this year.

really really they they they're not ever bringing in any players on the offensive line like Tyler Smith, ASim Richards and the guys they brought in this year like bass and a doga and Hoffman and but dude I can't even name them all they are investing they have been they just paid Zach Martin big time money on area they just paid Terrence Steele on area and again they got some dudes they just drafted the last two drafts they're gonna work into the line that is investments I mean I don't know where you guys are watching but so far the depth the first couple games are pretty good..

You act like this team has never put good players in the offensive line and invested in it they continue to invest in it every year they're trying to bring in players whether it's in the draft undrafted free agents or free agents to try to fill these holes...
Some of y'all just like to exaggerate
No, this is not exaggeration. Tell me the last time Tyron Smith started and played all 16, now 17 games. Didn't the starting left guard go out in the Jets game?

One of the maxims of pro football is you win in the trenches. That means the offensive line, like the defensive line, are a work in progress every year. The window is now. Improving the Dawgs in the trenches on both sides of the ball is football as usual for every team.

Sorry you don't agree. But if injuries occur, I bet you will agree then.

You're probably right, but it will depend on what he does this year and how the market plays out. Currently no rbs are getting big money and that might drive him right back to Dallas.
how would you feel about them resigning him to 7m yr for 3 years & drafting a RB in top 2 rounds?

He should take the money and retire or he will wind up with serious injury.

On the surface those numbers don't seem unreasonable but the marker is wild. Look at Austin Eckler for a somewhat comparable player. Eckler has been really good for awhile now and he isn't making that much.

Alot depends on what TP does this year, his first year as the man.

If I did resign him I wouldn't burn a high round pick on another rb this year though. I'd probably hold off.

He'll probably over estimate his value just like Schultz and the Cowboys will move on. It's a good thing honestly. No more bone headed RB deals. Now if he wants to do something team friendly, all for it.

Oh yeah i'd totally do that contract:

"Austin Ekeler signed a 4 year, $24,500,000 contract with the Los Angeles Chargers, including a $6,000,000 signing bonus, $15,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $6,125,000. In 2023, Ekeler will earn a base salary of $6,250,000, while carrying a cap hit of $9,100,000 and a dead cap value of $7,750,000."

but id still draft a EveryDown back somewhere in middle rounds to take the load off TP.

Probably the best fourth-quarter running back in the league. Especially when he comes in after someone else has been banging up the fence.

I don't see him getting a long term contract or franchised again. I suspect that Dallas will let him go and draft a guy somewhere in the top 3 rounds.
I don’t think there’s any doubt and I think that’s the model for the vast majority of RB in the nfl
For kids wanting to play in the nfl, don’t play RB. The hay day of getting paid to destroy your body is over

2 games in and some are already talking about next year....lol
I say, let the season play out and then we can talk about it. I'm more concerned with them over using him and he'll be spent come playoff time.

He will not be back unless it's in the 8 mil a year range. They are going to run him into the ground this season and wave goodbye. See Demarco Murray

Good, paying a RB that is expendable in today's NFL would be foolish. Use those savings to pay CD and Micah.

It's easy to get a "gut feeling" whenever that feeling has been repeated constantly for the past 12 months or so. Let's wait and see what gives!

He has been ok.
Not worth a franchise or large contract.
Still 15 games to make his case.

When agents start seeing the writing on the wall with diminishing value at the RB position as the standard, maybe we catch a a fly in the web and Pollard stays a part of this for a decent deal.

He needs to stay healthy all season and show dominance in the big games and then he can negotiate.

Pollard is a special talent, but he is still just an RB in consideration to cap value.

I answered you above, but this is too rich to n ot pass along. This just posted a little bit again on this board. Some of it predated the Jets contest, and some was during the Jets game. No I told you so needed. It's the nature of the game with players that fight all game long to do their jobs.

https://www.dallascowboys.com/news/injuries-across-o-line-as-cowboys-prep-for-arizona

FRISCO, Texas — From left to right, the Cowboys seem to be dealing with their share of injuries on the offensive line, including some of their front-line players. Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said both Zack Martin and Chuma Edoga – the two starting guards for Sunday's game against the Jets – will likely miss Wednesday's practice this week. However, the coach isn't ruling them out to potentially play against the Cardinals in Arizona on Sunday.

"I don't see Zack practicing on Wednesday, but we'll see what Thursday brings," McCarthy said on Monday. "I think he'll definitely have an opportunity to play on Sunday. And the same thing with Chuma." Martin was on the injury report last week with a groin injury, which had him limited in two practices. He then suffered an ankle injury in the game that eventually forced him out of the game in the fourth quarter with the Cowboys up by 20 points.

Edoga has a forearm injury that kept him out of most of the second half, replaced by rookie T.J. Bass. When Martin and Edoga were both out, Asim Richards came in to play left guard and Bass on the right side.

Now, the Cowboys might get some help at guard with the return or Tyler Smith, who has missed two straight games with a hamstring injury he sustained in practice before the Week 1 opener against the Giants. Cowboys chief operating officer Stephen Jones said on 105.3 "The Fan" on Monday that Smith could make his debut this Sunday.

"We feel very optimistic about Tyler [Smith] having a great chance at having a shot against Arizona." If Tyler Smith returns, coupled by Martin being able to play, it could give the Cowboys their first game of the season at full strength on the offensive line, along with left tackle Tyron Smith, center Tyler Biadasz and right tackle Terence Steele.
