Guyton and Steele

I've never understood the argument to play Guyton at RT since its his natural position, but then also kick Steele inside to a position hes never played before. Why not minimize the positional change and leave these guys alone? Moving Guyton back to the right side after training the last year and a half to play on the left side probably does more harm than good right now. You're also taking a top 5 Guard in the league and rolling the dice on a new position. Granted he could probably be fine at Tackle, his biggest downfall is that he can be a penalty machine...throw him outside and there is a good chance we see that.

Just let these guys play the positions they've been at and let them get some continuity. Honestly I don't think left side vs right side makes much of a difference once you've been on a particular side for a year plus.
Steele has played guard but we have much better options

Maybe just allow the professional coaches who are with them every day put the OL together as it will best help the team.

Ok, so how many linemen are you prepared to be without for the Philly game?

Sorry, man. I do see your point, but materially speaking, what actually matters is having guys available.

I want tough mindsets just as much as you. I just don’t want them at the expense of healthy ligaments and bones…
Even with limited late blooming linemen, as has been posted before by myself, the Eagles lost more talent in the off seasons than did Dallas. Don't start off crying and expect me to remove your fabricated tears. Short term injuries are what remain at present. Depth of talent is strong. You afraid to go against challenges in the real rold of the NFL.

I don't start out any season yelling the sky is falling. Neither do our Cowboys.

Try a different route...look rorward and enjoy games. it's a long one with game changes and lot's of bumps.

The lineup and minor injuries can all be handled. Even with q 'big bad eagle' to play twice.

play 'em twice. Bring 'em on up! :starspin:

This was already posted by me on this thread:

Let's get some forehead sweat going and strengthen this whole line...

In addition to Adeniji, Walker mentioned that Asim Richards and Ajani Cornelius will rotate in behind. 2024 seventh-round pick Nate Thomas, another camp standout, is a candidate for reps, but he has seen some work at right guard in camp.

The 27-year-old can play both tackle and guard spots and he has impressed early on in training camp.

What may give Cowboys fans pause about the idea - other than his lack of starting experience - is that there's been no mention of Adeniji playing left tackle in Oxnard. He finished Friday's practice at right tackle with the starters with Terence Steele resting his ankle. The coaching staff is putting a lot of faith in Adeniji’s ability to smoothly transition to the opposite side of the line.

This is worse than Jerry’s chat.

You can’t argue with the bottom line, which is that these guys should be in knee braces in camp. ‘Real world NFL games’, as you call it, is the place to risk injury; not pre-season.

Handle minor bumps, the team is.

Cowboys' Asim Richards starts LT drills immediately after Tyler Guyton injury news

Asim Richards, who had been working with the second-team offense at right tackle, immediately began working at left tackle following the Tyler Guyton injury news.

Wrong. It's like riding a bike if you move him back to his college position of RT. It's a no brainer. What's hard to understand in leaving dudes where they belong? Why move them? I trust this oline coach to get it right. Let's see what the starting line up looks like come week 1.
They did this Andre Gurode and almost ruined his career. When they left him alone he took off and flourished

Punctuation please! My suggestion about moving the two is because it’s blatantly obvious that they are our two biggest liabilities on the OL. Granted, Ty Smith sometimes struggles with his footwork when he kicks out to left tackle, but Guyton is already a bust. Steele is at his best when he’s either run blocking or doesn’t have to quickly adjust his footwork as is needed at RT. To me, moving the two is a last ditch effort before moving on from both. It looks like we may finally have some good depth at LT, so I wouldn’t hesitate to bench Guyton for a while if he struggles early on in the season.
No I use talk to text and I do hit and runs here and I don’t plan on going back and making sure it was perfectly structured for you and grammatically correct and all the punctuation and nonsense

I disagree at the moment and the coaches are with me and most people will say you don’t move Tyler Smith out there unless you absolutely have to know he’s not a bust so you can have your opinion if you want it but I disagree with you I’m gonna let the coaches figure this out and we can talk about it during the season I keep receipts I’ll be looking for you,mr. imperfections
