It's not limited to weak opponents.

Just merged into the stickied thread up top.

Oh. I usually avoid the board for a couple of hours after the game to let things settle down. Seems like a silly rule. I just hadn't noticed I guess.

No penalty. It's just that if we lose people are so angry that there are literally 200 threads in 20 minutes. It gets impossible. Usually, only if we lose. If we win, but win ugly it may be similar, but not quite.

Thanks Hos. Got it. I will stick to the game thread.

It was great win, but remember its the Seahawks and we should win.Hopefully the players will not get overconfident with a game in Philly next week.

How can any cowboys player be overconfident against Philly right now? If it was against Packers maybe you can say that, but Philly? Heck no way, there won't be an iota of that.

This was a noon kickoff, still a lot of time to get out and run errands so people may be out and about.

I have seen too many up and down performances from this team to make that assumption.

Guess none of you want to admit as much, but you know it's true.
:wink2:

When all is right in your house, do you sit around and compliment your TV, AC, cold beer, etc.?

Heck no. Now, you might think, "it doesn't get any better than this," but for the most part, you bask in the moment, because nirvana is a rare, but wonderful, thing.

Now, if your TV goes out, or one of your pipes burst, do you sit by idly and do or say nothing?

Heck no. You usually freak (internally or externally) and do or say what you have to do to get it fixed.

 The game's been over for like a matter of minutes. And yes, losing a game will always elicit more fan attention in the same manner that plane crashes garner more news coverage than flights which land safely. Just common sense with a dash of human nature thrown in.

It's *not* human nature to ***** more about losses than it is to exult in wins. It's Cowboy-fan nature because Cowboy fan have unrealistic expectations.

And the losing-a-game=plane crash v. winning-a-game=safe landing is just a really bad metaphor. Winning a game--against any team--is every bit as significant as losing one, and for some of us, it's every bit as exciting. The fact that our fans act like every loss is a plane crash, though, and that people in the thread buy this argument without contesting it, tells you more than I want to know about the mentality of our fans.

Oh goody, my stalker arrives right on cue. Could have sworn I was having a dialogue with the OP and not you, but no matter. And yes, it is human nature to dwell on losses more than victories over patsies, no matter how much you vainly deny it. Others boards/fans are similarly inclined, seeing as how they are not robots.

Do you hang out at airports and cheer every time a plane lands safely? If not, then piss off.

Jesus, bbgun. You're sensitive. I'm not stalking you. I just thought the thread was a good one. Because you post a lot, you happen to make a lot of bad points in good threads. The piss-off comment wasn't necessary.

To participate in the dialog you now, apparently, are inviting: no, I don't cheer when planes land safely, though I do appreciate it. Then again, I don't equate something as hard as winning games in the NFL to something as routine as landing planes safely. This is another variation on the 'realistic expectations' argument I've been making on this board for the last two years.

I haven't, when Cowboys were playing good teams. Except last year, against Philly at the end of season. But circumstances and players are entirely different now. You can see with this team, how much this team plays as a team, so far. Unless proven other wise, I don't expect a bad effort.

Now Tony might have a hickup and end throwing multiple Ints and lose, but thats always a possibility.

Nope. The OP is exactly right. There is far more action after we lose than after we win. It isn't even close. I can back this up.
Be happy the traffic is here , regardless if they win or lose. Me, I'm happy today, though I started thinking Eagles as soon as game was over.

He's proving your point. You rationally expect planes to land properly every time. You don't rationally expect the Cowboys to win every game in a perfect manner.

You'd think with as many plane crashes they've had in Detroit the past season and a half, they'd just stop flying.

To understand, you'd have to know what it's like on this side after a loss.

I guess you are saying it makes your role here less fun?

:laugh2: I provoked you, huh? Funny how you were able to isolate my reply from all the others. And funny how I'm always wrong. Darn my bad luck.

Sorry, but all flights (like all NFL games) are equally important, so if you're not cheering the successful landings, you're a hypocrite.

I have never enjoyed that role here when it wasn't about serving the members. Not once.
