Halloween Movie Must Watch List

Going to stay more modern

Conjuring 1 and 2...Third one really was not up to par with the first two.
Insidious movies 1, 2 and 4. Did not care for the third one.
Ready or Not...don't know why but I like this one.
The babysitter 1. Second one is ok but liked the first one better.
The Strangers 1 and 2 . Mindless but fun for the genre. Kind of liked the 2nd one better.
I Saw the Devil...not really a halloween type movie but I love it.
Guillermo Del Toro's movies Pan's Labyrinth. Devil's Backbone
Let the right one in
The Babadook
Terrifier
The loved Ones - not as many know of this Aussie film but it is pretty wild
Cold Fish crazy korean movie
Two Japanese films...Audition and Suicide Club
Audition messed me up. Miike makes some really wild films.

Forgot to add the Ninth gate.
Not really a horror movie and I don't know why I like it but I even bought it and have watched it a great deal.

On a side note...If you like bizzare movies like audition, you might like Martyrs.

Foreign film but you can find it with dubbing.

Surprised a few "big hitters" haven't been listed...

"Dawn of the Dead" 1978-While "Night of the Living Dead" is a fine film, "Dawn" is better IMO and it did something that "Night" never did and that was kick-start a wave of movies sharing a similar theme, i.e. the recently dead coming back to kill/devour the living. I saw the movie when it was originally released and the level of violence and gore in it set the tone for movie violence and gore for a generation.

"Legend of Boggy Creek"-Another movie that I saw as part of its original run. The movie scared the hell out of me! Has transcending beyond just being a cult-classic. The filming style was revolutionary for the time and set the tone for many movies that came after including...

"The Blair Witch Project"-I know many dislike this movie due to how they (the folks behind the movie) marketed it– which is a point I really do not understand. I think it's a heck of a movie. A great premise and the actors did a fabulous job. It influenced two-decades worth of "found footage" movies (most of which were meh at best but there are some gems like "Cloverfield").

Blair Witch Project was alright. I hated the shaky camera effect it inspired in so many movies. HATED it.

Underworld all of them.
Fear Street.
The Babysitter,
Roohi.
Truth or Dare.
Unfriended.

-Only thing i can say about Blair Witch Project is:
1) whoever super-market it with such an astounding very low budget and lured audiences and critics into seeing it should be on Shark Tank
2) It may have been created as an original stand alone classic with the Found footage system, shaky live action camera work and cinematography; thus it spawn
similar films such as Cloverfield and Paranormal.
Otherwise it's by far one of the very overrated and disappointing films i've ever experienced.

- Dawn of the Dead scared the heck outta when i was kid, such that i couldn't wait for dawn daylight to hit. i thought i'd see some zombie creeping around the
house in the dark, while seeking out it next midnight snack.

the Exorcist, Dawn of the Dead (1978) Jaws,(Bill Gardner's head!) and City of the Living Dead (Gates of Hell) .. gave me more night time jitters and creepy chills than i want to recall.back in da dayz.

This one scared the crap out of me when I was younger. They had a whole show on the sci-fi network leading up to the movies release about how they found the footage buried underground and talking about the people that were lost. I fell for it hook, line, & sinker.
