I am still for Watkins starting come week 1.

Bottom line is that Hamlin is a proven free safety in this league .... and is light years ahead of anything we have had the last few years ....

Maybe Watkins can eventually overtake him ..... maybe not ....

Just curious, but what is everyone else missing here? How is he listed on NFL.com and the official Ravens website as a FS, and yet you say he played strong all last year? What was Dawan Landry doing? Why would the ravens play a 6' 220 lb safety at free and a 5'11" 200 lb safety at strong?

Maybe the Ravens play their safety's like we did when we had Williams and Woodson.

The ravens do not have SS, FS they like safties that can do both jobs well, that gives them flexibility in hiding their schemes.
Hamlin is better then what we have and it is not like we are up against the cap, so why not spend the money, heck we are so far under the cap we probably have to spend some money.
