It's hard to try and rationalize with people, but the video game/fantasy football era has made things crazy.

Actually its quite easily. The rate at which he made plays was absolutely atrocious and as much as you might want to ignore that, it is huge.

theo would cite pff as his proof of statistical superiority the only problem is that pff said that he had a qb rating against that was well over 100.

pff even admits that they miss most of safety play because they cannot see that in a telecast but what those stats did tell us was that what they actually did see was absolutely atrocious.

According to pff Hamlin was good for about a pass a game of over 18 yards. Teams only throw deep a few times a game and the ones he was responsible for he allowed a 60% completion percentage.

Theo is trying to backtrack now but before he was spouting hyperbole about how statistically Hamlin was the best of the league.

I mean he even says that right here but from that he says that he only was defending him from people that only talked about ints? Give me a break he was saying that he was one of the best safeties in the league and twisting what pff actually said to say that.

I am very serious when I say that he has narcissistic personality disorder.

Reasons why?

Good range, good speed, willingness to tackle, good coverage skills taken to a more roaming style coverage role.

The only place I think he'll struggle is covering athletic tight ends, but there aren't too many of those that are going to be able to out-athlete him...we don't play San Diego unless we see them at the Super Bowl, and Antonio Gates would likely get covered by Sensabaugh or a linebacker.

I like what I saw last year, especially against Kansas City when the game was on the line - he wasn't afraid to lay the wood to a bigger/stronger receiver. As long as he knows his assignments, I've got high hopes for him.

I still think Michael Hamlin has the ball skills longterm to be the better option, though. But I think the Cowboys might be looking at a Ball/Hamlin or AOA/Hamlin safety tandem in the future. Not sure Sensabaugh will be around after this year.

Ball as the 3rd/4th CB behind Newman/Jenkins/Scandrick and AOA/Hamlin starting as safeties with a possibility of Barry "Take 'Em To" Church spelling those guys at safety? I'd be happy.

But it's the offseason, and training camp hasn't even started :) ;)
