I think Oden is on par with Shaq as a prospect. The thing that most impresses me with Oden is that he basically played this season one handed...and dominated.
Hard to pinpoint who the best prospect is because Duncan certainly was viewed as a C until he went to SA and Olajuwon was dominant coming out as well.
As for Portland...you look at that roster now...

PF LaMarcus Aldridge/Zack Randolph
SF Martell Webster
SG Brandon Roy
PG Jarrett Jack
That has the look of a team that can do some things for a long, long time. They can even move Randolph for more help at SF and PG.
