1) Juneteenth should be national holiday
2) Frederick Douglass should be on some form of US currency
Or at least a state holiday in Texas and the states that had slavery. I mean Boston has March 17th off which is known as Evacuation Day (when the British left Boston). I had no idea about it until I’m lived in Boston for a few years. I did learn about Juneteenth and I went to school in upstate NY. Another person who should be honored more is Harriet Tubman. She risked her own life several times to help free slaves. We should not forget our history. As they say those who forget history our bound to repeat.

Happy Juneteenth my cowboy brothers.
My parents came from Mexico, live in deep South Texas and we had a black neighborhood and school just a couple of blocks from my house. Grew up with a black family next door. My dad loved to read medical and history books. He actually taught me about Juneteenth back in the 70s when I was a kid. He would tell me about several places in town where blacks and Mexicans weren't allowed to go into. We had a great discussion the other day about BLM. He told me that when he first came to the US in the 50s there were white drinking fountains and black drinking fountains. He asked a friend, where are the Mexican fountains!! Lol!
One reason I loved coaching was that it didn't matter what color or how much money you had. Under that helmet all you can see is talent and ability. Salud!!!
