Hard realities

I personally don't think Mahomes is that good. When the NFL isn't working the Taylor Swift angle, and when defenses actually get to hit Mahomes, he is not that good.
Gotta disagree with you on this one Lee. Mahomes’ playoff performances in the last 4-5 years alone have put him in the HOF. If he retired today, he’s a first ballot HOFer.

And he’s highly respected by his teammates and other players in the NFL as you see in the players’ voting for the TOP 100 players. That says a lot in my book.

Patrick Mahomes is arguably a top 5 QB of all time in my view.

Yeah that was a crazy statement. Bro breathing down Brady's neck if Chiefs get it back together.

BULLET!!!
We know the defense is trash. What about throwing the ball on the 1 yard line?

Jerry, you play all the damn players so use them. Dallas only wants the elite players to score.

Just really depressing that Dallas limited offers for Parsons because they needed a DT back. So they got a good/average one who is 30 years old. They would have been much better priorizing another pick or a young player. But of course, Jerry really thought this team had something. How lost can you be to think that? I mean only a handful of people think that here and they are the same people who say no wrong about the organization.

Especially when your RB is averaging more yards per attempt than the QB.

well that removes any doubt I had about your ability to evaluate players

I thought you were not very good
Yet the guys I choose routinely outplay others.
You can choose who you want.
But there is more to choosing a player than what looks good in a uniform.

17 playoff wins and 3 rings says otherwise. If he never played another down he would be a first ballot HOFer. Might wanna change your criteria for what makes a good NFL QB.

the 2023 season, our last season with realistic playoff hopes, 3 of our best defenders on that team are no longer on this team. And 3 others are currently hurt. And that 2023 defense was not great to begin with.
  • Micah Parsons - best talent we’ve had on defense in two decades. Traded to GB. Predictably tearing it up in GB.
  • Demarcus Lawrence - one of the most underrated Cowboys in recent years, was lost in FA to Seattle. (Too many fans here only looked at sack numbers) DLaw was a real talent who has already made an impact in Sea.
  • Jourdan Lewis - a real leader and underrated talent, lost in FA to the Jags. Has two picks in 3 games.
McGovern is a starting guard on a top 5 NFL team, he wasn't good enough for us? This decision is why we used the 12th pick on a guard. Had they resigned McG they don't make that move.

The center from Wisconsin was a starter on a NFC Championship participant. Why did we let him go? Beebe is not as good. We prioritize that bum Wilson but we let quality lineman walk like it's all good?

We franchise Pollard one year and the next year we let him walk. Why? We haven't had a franchise caliber back since he left. Why not sign him to a long term deal?

Dorance Armstrong. Why they let him walk. The guy had 21 sacks from 21-23 and tons of pressures over that stretch.

We keep letting guys walk and the replacements have not been as quality.

Why would you resign a QB at age 31 who cannot put up 20 points on the road vs any quality completion outside of Philadelphia

Nearly posted this last night.

Jerry has no clue how to rebuild. If he did he would have done so already.

Hate to tell the fans but hes not interested in that. He would rather field a .500 team and stay media relevant then take several down years or major risks.

Why we havent won anything since his "ego" took over.
Jerry doesn’t do a rebuild because he believes he has a very talented roster that he assembled and they are contenders. He believes he has a top 3 QB a great wr group great OL and good RBs, he believes his D is good, it’s the same story every year with Jerry, he’s not rebuilding with top dollar being paid to players, he’s believes every year he’s got a championship caliber team and he believes after all the failures it’s just bad luck, unfortunately this is what happens when you surround yourself with yes men and sycophants.

I haven't watched any All-22 film, but from observations made on the couch, they're getting beat alot when running a single high safety. If the plan is to run zone, we need somebody back there with the range and speed to catch up with receivers breaking deep. I've seen safeties (specifically Malik Hooker) coming over late, and corners looking around wondering where the help was. I think it's a combination of struggling to understand defensive concepts and a talent deficit on the back end. As is, I'm not so sure Bland and Revel coming back will help much unless one of them is back playing center field.

I agree. But then I have little faith in the talent evaluation skills of our FO. Thinking all we need is a good QB is barely scratching the surface of this team’s problems.
This is just my opinion. I honestly don't think there's an issue with the people who evaluate talent for us. Jerry and Stephen make the final decisions. How do we know the Joneses aren't told about this player and that player. I'm willing to make bets they are being told and Stephen and Jerry are just crapping the bed by dumpster diving.

Guys a bum, all those SB appearances were luck, all those CCG wins were luck, 30 years of bad luck for Dallas, don’t believe me just ask Jerry

Trading Parsons will eventually be viewed as one of the worst trades in NFL history.
Not really. No need to get 47 million in debt on a guy who doesn't get you anywhere. First smart decision they lucked into. Now reverse the Dak and Lamb deals

You want real change?

Hope for a 1-16 record.

Because as long as we’re middle of the pack Jerry is just gonna think we’re a piece or two away from a Super Bowl run.
Yep. The Cowboys need to hit rock bottom so he'll maybe come out of his delusional assessment of the team. Go through another total rebuild like under Jimmy hopefully with a new owner. Jerry's ego and pride continue to be his undoing and it's not fair to the fans who support this team. Next week's game may look very similar to yesterday's.
