I gotta say. I love everything I just saw in this video. Those that haven't been part of a team whether it's sports or business related may not understand it. But sometimes you need a guy out there in your face telling you to get your stuff together. It's risky. And if it's over done it can eventually backfire. But it can also get players to play at a higher level.
Anyone who's ever watched any sport has seen this a million times. Irvin was known to be firey. As was Aikman from time to time. There's a pretty well played video of him going off on his O-line. But because of who he was and the position he played. You'd never hear Dungy criticize him for it. And anybody who ever watched the NBA can speak of the many times Bird or Jordan were known to be a holes to their team mates if they felt they weren't pulling their weight. Didn't seem to hurt them or their teams much.
Honestly, it doesn't bother me and it doesn't seem to bother his teammates. Its' football. Can't say you want a guy with passion and then when he shows it, we clutching our pearls like old ladies sitting on a stoop. lol
What's gonna happen is the Cowboys are going to release a conveniently edited video with the audio like the one with Dez and everybody will believe that all he was doing was hyping them up. That he never said anything crazy to anyone and that it was he just starring in a one man hype show.
My bad. I'll remember that next time.
I've read every story and every tweet about it and every quoted player, coach, and our beloved GM is going, "nothing to see here." What else should I do? lol
Even the coach at the center of it didn't say anything other than it wasn't the time.
Exactly! It doesn't mean some form of discipline won't be handed down in-house for being disruptive on the field, but suspensions, firings, etc is total nonsense.
just be shocked and awed.
If Tom Brady did that same exact thing on the sidelines he would be praised all week. The guy could easily be out there playing for himself and his next contract, but he obviously gives a damn about winning and takes it seriously. I'll go into battlewith a guy like that every day.
That's not the damaging video......It's what he did before that's gonna get him fired
Some posters here probably think the players go home and have a knitting circle after the games also.
This is the video that has so many in an uproar.
I wouldn't be against it. This season is lost and I'd have no interest in keeping that complete moron on the team next year. He's always going to be a problem. Let him be someone else's problem.
But he won't be gone or suspended. We're run by an oil man and his son. This will be tolerated until it reaches debacle status. Go Cowboys.
I don't think I'm defending Hardy, but I don't think suspending him for this is the right answer.
The most egregious faux paus was him slapping the clipboard out of Bisaccia's hands. That's starting to cross the line because you're basically physically putting your hands on somebody and Bisaccia needs that clipboard to show the players what to do. As much as the kickoff return ticks me off (it was a bad kick as well), the play is over and the team needs to get back focusing on the game.
If I were Garrett, I would warn him and explain why that behavior was irresponsible and doesn't do anybody any good, including him. I would tell him that this nonsense stops and I don't want to hear a peep out of him all week. And if it happens again, he's suspended. And remember, he is basically on a pay-for-play basis and next year when he's looking for a new contract, his behavior this year will play a big factor in what he can get.
I absolutely understand the frustration. But if you want to get after a coach...wait until after the game instead of in the game when he's trying to do his job.
