Hardy Suspension Reduced to 4 games *Merge*

Let the NFLPA take it to court. Hardy's position all along is that he is innocent. He's even trying to get his record expunged of this incident. Why would he not let the players union take his case to court if he truly feels he's innocent.

Time, money, public relations, and control over when you serve the suspension.

Hardy doesn't lose time, or money. His job was done a long time ago.

Negative PR is possible, but moreso for the NFL than Hardy. After a 6 game discrepancy difference, Goodell is going to look power hungry and Hardy is going to look like an innocent guy that got punished way too severely, guilty or not. When a person sees "10 games reduced to 4", they think "whoever made that initial decision really screwed the pooch".

Last point is solid. I do wonder, if Doty is still taking the case, if they wouldn't try to extradite it, especially with the contempt case coming up.

The NFL cannot punish him for seeking legal recourse. Well they can but they will get sued and lose once again and have the courts be very punitive.

His PR is already in the toilet with people such as yourselves having their minds made up. Only thing that is going to improve that is helping win games and more games the better.

And the court does not delay the suspension in the meantime. They are likely to seek an immediate injunction with the season almost upon us. The case wouldn't be heard until the season is over.

I think Hardy comes out with a massive chip on his shoulder in week 5. That's good for us and bad for the Golden boy (Brady)

Eagles and Giants only get to avoid 1 game for now. Both MCClain and Hardy back for 2nd match ups.
This paves the way for NFL to still look good, plus will ease the blow when they announce Brady will get no games suspended.

So Hardy & McClain first game back, they get to take out frustrations and beat up on Brady.

I'm happy for Cowboys Zone. This is unbelievable. Good things like this never happens for our team:huh:. Again...congratulations to the supporters!!!
Are you kidding? Don't you know how miserable this announcement will make some people???!? They can't whine about how much the league office hates Dallas and how unfair it was they had to wait so long and that Brady got his appeal settled first, etc etc!!

There is a large contingent in this forum who are only happy when they have something to complain about!!! :D

IT'S. ABOUT. TIME. I must admit, I am grinning from ear to ear! However, still want more (or, I guess...less). :D

You seem unaware that the majority opinion outside this forum is that Hardy is guilty. There are no circumstances by which Hardy is "going to look like an innocent guy" to the rest of the populace.

It seems that you are complaining about the fact that people here like to complain...

Betcha the Brady news comes out before day's end. That will supercede this in the northeast-obsessed media.

Meanwhile, Mara is having a hissy fit in his office. Eli will get the full Dallas pass rush in New York against his lousy offensive line.

Not that I know of, but anyone paying attention to opinions among the media and other fan bases would agree with my statement.

Well, I can't say that this has been my experience. Most of the people I talk to know I am a Cowboy fan so it's pretty common for them to start in on Hardy. Normally it starts out that way but once I start talking to them, get past the ribbing, I usually find that most people believe it's both parties who are responsible. They usually feel as if Hardy probably did do something but they also feel as if the women instigated it. I don't find it to be as black and white as what you suggest.

I don't think that is true. Fans of other teams will always proclaim player on another team as guilty without really knowing anything about the situations; however, I don't believe that a majority of people who have studied the Hardy case believe he is guilty or that it happened exactly as the woman claimed.

I'm shocked the league caved in...thought all along this was going to court and gonna be dragged out for months.

Sitting 4 games.....is not the end of the world.

On the other hand what does he have to lose regarding an appeal? Nothing.....

I say fight it.
