If I was Hardy-- from a PR perspective for his career-- I would not fight it in court. Take the hit-- apologize profusely for my mistakes-- thank the Cowboys and NFL for a second chance-- and then take all my frustration out on the football field.

Acknowledging his fault in this situation is key to him being able to move forward and get on with his career. 10 games was an unfair penalty. 4 games fits the crime. Embrace it and move on.

Gee thanks, Dr. Phil.

Appeal this. From Hardy's prospective, he's already suffered from PR - no matter the truth, it looks as if he bought his way out for a DV conviction. Accepting 4 games isnt changing that.

And for the NFLPA, this sets a precedent that the pre Ray Rice rules can be manipulated. I appeal, even without Hardy's approval.

Contempt case still in play. They still have to rule on Peterson, and then they still have to keep up with precedence.

Dumb move by the NFL... they can still be beat in court and the media will see them as being weak

Hardy contends he's innocent - so his punishment should be zero games (he's already missed 16 games for this, right?)

If he did do it (no proof, chick changed her story 10 times) - he should miss TWO games because that is the precedent that was previously set.

Four games makes no sense

It doesn't look good on Hardy if they don't appeal. But at this point the ignorance is so great in the court of public opinion, that it will always hang over his head, innocent or guilty. What opposing fans say is irrelevant. They will rag on him and Dallas whether they think he did it or not. That's what sporting rivals do.
The media just look for the splashes headline regardless of fact, fiction, or consequences.

assuming he accepts the 4 games, just looking at the schedule:

Giants @ home = divisional game, giants always play us pretty tough at home. Push
@ Philly = another divisional game, stomped them last year in Philly, don't see why we can't do it again.. plus I think Chip Kelly is a farce. Win
Falcons @ home = Win
@ Saints = Loss

I'll take 2-2, possibly 3-1 depending on the Giants game with no Hardy and no McClain

Why are you sure we will beat Philly on the road...but unsure we will beat the Giants at home? I am not saying we should disrespect ANYONE....but the Eagles will be much more of a challenge than the Giants. I respect the Giants...but when I consider where their program is...and where our's is....I think we should expect to beat them routinely over the next few years....especially at home. This is the Giants last hurrah. A non-playoff season and the Coughlin era is over and they will start to look for Eli's replacement.

Kessler is paid for by the NFLPA and he is the one that litigates all that stuff.

Yeah and he is the best in the business. Owners hate him. People saying he should just accept this and move on dont live in reality. 4 games is an attempt to save face. No way way he is going miss two game checks for no reason. Union wont stand for it.

I'm sure they're saying 2 games for the guns and 2 games for the DV = 4 games.

With the 10 games, the NFL was saying he put his hands on her 4 times (2 games each = 8), and had the guns (2 more games) to make 10.

On appeal, they said they shouldn't count him putting his hands on her as 4 separate incidents, and that it should be seen as 1 incident. So that would be 2 games. Then, 2 more for the guns = 4

That is my guess anyway.

I think you have to know more about the ruling before you decide if you are going to take this to court. It's important to understand how the Arbitrator came to the 4 games. For example, if he said two games for the actual incident and 2 games for weapons or some such thing. I don't know, I'm just saying that we don't have all the details yet so it might not be such a slam dunk for Hardy and the NFLPA.

LOL.... I was a day late and a dollar short. I agree with your post. Could be exactly like this, we don't know.

This is amazing news. And I'm way pleasantly surprised. As long as they took to get this announcement going I thought they were going to end up extending this suspension based on our luck.

Is there some kind of poll or something?
DANGER, WILL ROBINSON! DANGER!

I've already pointed out to Rogah that reading comments on other websites or hearing commentary on television, radio, etc. does not constitute proof of majority opinion. I pointed out actual polling that did attempt to measure opinion about topics. He blew those off as well.
