Someone's suggested, I think reasonably, that perhaps the idea is to hire someone like Zimmer or Rivera as a "senior advisor," and a younger guy as the actual DC.

I wouldn’t mind Durde as a first time DC. My question was he involved in the X’s & O’s and the defensive plan unlike Harris. If he was I would feel but more confident in his ability as a DC. Now does his philosophy change a bit from DQ or is he going to basically run the same system?

If you bring in Zim as a senior defensive advisor, that makes even more sense as he has shown he is not married to a particular scheme.

Well, let's not totally disregard six years of DC for the London Warriors... it's at least a role he's familiar with. That's not much, but it's also not nothing. There are position coaches at age 44 with less.
