Has anyone ever drank Absinthe?

Sounds like it tastes like Yeagermeister...never did like that stuff due to the anise flavoring.

Did consume large quantities of Soju while serving in Korea. That stuff was said to have formaldehyde in it...not sure if it did not not.
came in a various sized kettle (depending on the size you bought) mixed with orange juice. Very similar to a screw driver.

Instead of pouring the drinks from the kettle we would buy a kettle and drink it out of the kettle with a straw.

I have a bottle at home. Bought it in Europe. Don't drink it often though. It's a pain preparing it.

It was the "people's drink" in Mexico up until about 50 years ago, but you can still find it there.

I moved to Mexico when I was a child of 23, and basically grew up there. I didn't come back to the States until I was 34 and had a family, but I spent a lot of time in my first years there with pulque.

I had some about 40 years ago when it was illegal. Stuff tasted horrible and knocked me loopier than being kicked in the head by a horse.

Drank it while in school in Germany during the 80s.

Used a runcible spoon, a cube of sugar and lit it up with a match.

Oddly enough did that in Italy with coffee beans and Sambuca also. In Greece you jsut drin k the Ouzo straight.

Same stuff different country. Absinthe way, way stronger. Probably not the same stuff as one would find in the 20s and 30s.
