For those who are curious here is Area 51, also called Groom Lake.

In case anyone is interested...no, I do not believe in UFOs even though my Dad, a pilot, swears he saw one.

I believe this is a top secret Air Force Base and nothing more. It does have some extremely long runways though.

I also do not buy the Roswell, NM thing. I am from NM, and played football against the Goddard Rockets of Roswell, NM. Named for Robert Goddard, a scientist who was developing rocket propulsion. 2 + 2 = one of his experiments...

Enough of that...

I think there are two U2 spy planes visible here. If not U2s, then similar structure.

A couple of fighter jets. Not sure what the profiles are...

There's even 1 plane taxiing on the runway...

37 degrees, 14', 00.78" N
115 degrees, 48', 51.18" W

Check out the runways on the dry lake bed. You can see tire tracks off the end of one runway and you can see the runway numbers...

37 degrees, 17', 20.05" N
115 degrees, 47', 53.04" W

How about this little oasis they have...

37 degrees, 15', 40.94" N
115 degrees, 50', 36.24" W

For those who do not know basically everything inside all those surrounding mountain ranges is called Area 51. You cannot see this base because the mountains surround it.

Not exactly the desert area of Independance Day is it?

The USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor.

At the office we play a game w/ Google Earth. I basically find a historical site and get it all zoomed in and take a screen pic. I put the pic up and my staff gets 1 shot at identifying it. Trust me. Its not easy. It is fun tho.
