Has anything good happened this offseason yet

Depending on an individual's opinion on the definition of good.
They signed or re-signed Kendricks, Lewis, Godwin and Sieg so far.

They lost T. Smith, Vander Esch, Fowler, Armstrong, Biasdasz, Gallup and Pollard. The impact of these losses can be measured against their replacements by the end of the season.

But losing that many starters/contributors and hoping draft picks and 2nd year players can give the same production is a risky team building plan at best imo.

But that's how we chose to do business this year.

I'm not a big believer in this philosophy.

Maybe I have missed something but it seems like this offseason is even a bigger disaster than most.
I've been waiting for something positive to happen but I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel.
We are lied to by our ownership telling us we're going to go all in and we do just the opposite.

We used to be able to at least sign our own guys.

The price we have to pay for a quarterback seems to make it impossible to compete in free agency not that we necessarily would anyway even if we had the money.

If I'm back Dak I'm using some of that big paycheck to buy some heavy duty insurance since I've made it impossible for us to have an offensive line I would at least get medical protection

I'm thinking this might be a good time to take a break from the Cowboys and just wait for the draft maybe something good will happen there.
In the meantime I'll be waiting in anxious anticipation of our next tight end or injured player taken in the second round.
Yeah, you’ve missed a lot. It’s all negative for your lot.

And there is a thread about Faith in Dak.

Well for goodness sake Rocky please enlighten me on all the positive things that have happened that I have missed.

Heck don't leave me in the dark clue me into this master plan that I am just not able to see.

The only potential good thing I can think of is dysfunction often leads to change. But we're talking about Jerry Jones here so who knows.
I hear you brother problem is Jerry has too many offspring and the change could be even worse than he has been if that's humanly possible.

If I could choose I would 100% take the risk and find out. I think there's a decent chance that Stephen has his own ideas but doesn't want to share them with "daddy". Maybe he will hire a GM, spend in free agency, and have the organization reach out to players and other teams instead of expecting them to reach out to them. If not well meet the new owner same as the old owner. I can't see how it could be much worse.

But I just meant as far as moving on from Dak and McCarthy. We know we're stuck with Jerry until he's in a nursing home at least.

We are a considerably worse team at this point then we were when we choked against GB in Jan.

If this core group couldn’t win when they had more talent around them— I fail to see how they will win going forward.

2023 was when the window shut. New HC in 2025. Lots of contracts and dead money off the books by 2026.

I don’t see how they win more than 8 or 9 games this year.

No, not all. You missed nothing, because we have done nothing. Don't worry it will be Dak's fault at the end of the year.

They got rid of Quinn and signed Zimmer. Why any Cowboys fan would not think that’s positive is telling. They signed a decent LB who knows Zimmers defense which will allow the defense to progress faster. They let some aging vets go something the haters (not necessarily you) have been *****ing about for years. Now all of a sudden, that’s not positive. They have become even a younger team than last. They didn’t overspend on a 1st tier FA the type of whom rarely live up to their massive contract. And this is all before the draft! The draft will help fill some of the holes and they have until September to fill the rest. I get it, you all want it now damn it!

They re-signed Rico and cut ties with Gallup.

Also, I do think Gilmore comes back. A year older but with the same brains. He didn't look all that slow to me last season either.

Getting the 2 spot and then getting blown out at home in the first playoff game by a 9-8 team… success!
It's a burner account for Jerry bro.
Don't sweat it.

Relevance and being entertained is their schtick.

No Rocky now I'm not an unreasonable fan I just feel like we have lost an amount of players that I don't feel we can replace through the draft.
Tyron Smith as much as people maligned him for being hurt when he did play was definitely above average I'm just not sure that he can be replaced sure we can move Tyler over but then we have another hole.
Our center certainly wasn't the second coming of Travis Frederick by any stretch of the imagination but he was a starter and replacing him and Tyron along with everything else we need could be a little difficult somewhere we have to get a running back and we need defensive line help just feel like we had to be a little more active in free agency to fill some of these holes.

Not against Zimmer at all but I'm still on a wait and see with him Quinn did some good things and the players liked him but seemed over matched when it mattered anxious to see if Zimmer can rise to the occasion when necessary

2nd and 3rd year players need to step up at some point.

Agreed but if you notice for some reason we develop certain positions and others we just seem to completely fall short we do pretty good with tight ends but defensive tackles for instance we just can't get anything going there and we don't seem to be setting the world on fire with linebackers either maybe the fact that we keep drafting injured ones is part of the problem

LOL! Anything good. More like torture watching all the other teams improve themselves and us resign a LS and backup RB.

TE's are interesting. We always think we need a TE, draft one, then figure out by surprise we already had one.

We need to stay away from DT's unless the entire NFL community thinks it is a top 5 pick.
