Has Micah done enough to be the highest paid defensive player?

He gets to the QB, he makes you game plan for him, you must know where he is on the field. Does he do enough otherwise to impact the game to be the highest paid? Or at this point does any of this even matter, he's going to get his money either way?? Please give your thoughts

Need to see what he can do opposite another player who can actually get to the QB. He runs out of gas halfway through the season. Likely because he has to do it all himself, or is it?

Being double and tripled teamed will wear you out over time. Especially when you selfishly refuse to come out of games, so you can chase stats.

My thoughts are that you should watch Parson’s play then you would know that your title question is well, ridiculous.

Absolutely, Micah the Mouth has earned highest-paid status.
Just don't go overboard with Dak-like excess.
Micah's 3/4 sack per game is not stellar, at least to me.
Good chaps all, eh?

Any extension would not start until his current contract is played out. So he would play out the four years of his rookie contract.
Is that the way the Cardinals did their QB? They signed him but it didn’t kick in until so many years down the road or am I not understanding what the Cardinals did.

It doesn't matter what has done. It's all about what he can do during the length of his new contract.

What is the cumulative effect of being double teamed on the line while being undersized for that position?

DE's get bigger contracts than most other positions because they typically don't last as long. The average career of a DE drafted in the first round in this century is less than 7 seasons and those are the 1st rounders.

Micah Parson could have been the next Lawrence Taylor. Then he would certainly be the best defender in the league. At this point, it wouldn't shock me at all if he began to decline five minutes after signing a new contract. It wouldn't be deliberate, he is slowly being worn down.

Instead of being the next Lawrence Taylor, there is the possibility he will be the next Zeke.

Zeke was overused because Jerry wanted to get his moneys worth....and the same will happen with Micah. There is a REASON that we are going on almost 30 years without competing for a Super Bowl. The Jones Boys try to run a sports franchise like a normal business. And that is why they make more money than anyone else...but that is also why they don't win.

With players like that it can be as simple as two choices. Pay him or trade him. Does it matter if he does enough? It is similar to QBs. Plenty of QBs don't do enough to earn their contract. They get paid because the alternative is to lose the player.

Moreso that he's a bit small to play a hands on the ground DE where he's fighting w/ 320 lb behemoths at the snap on every play. Need desperately to get him in space where his speed and moves come into play.

Elaborate please
A pile of players in NFL history have flared brightly then flamed out. To be considered tops, which equals top pay, a player needs to prove he can do it for a few years, game in and game out. Figure out why Micah flares brightly in the beginning of a season, but towards the end is not nearly as effective, and then remedy the issue. Having him rush from the DE position like his hair's on fire every play isn't working all season. Fix it. Micah prolly won't like it because the answer will have him using his head more.
