Has Micah shown you that he's a leader?

I think a lot of people want him to be a leader because he is the best player on defense; but he is not a leader in my estimation. A leader inspires; a leader leads by example and holds himself to a higher accountability and demands that others do the same…I just see a gifted player who says the right things during a podcast or locker room interview, but during crunch time in a game when he is needed most, he disappears.

There's more than one definition of 'LEADER'. The leadership qualities that he does show is the "FOLLOW ME" quality whereby all around him improve their game by him just being on the field.

Does he disappear....? or is that a) we have very little else for Offenses to worry about, b) there is a problem in his approach in that he stat gathers looking for regular season SACKS/PRESSURE's.

Im not paying him to be a LEADER, we're paying him, because, as shown in the Eagles game he can improve the most limited of Defenses and you CAN build a Defense around him (even as a decoy).

Indeed, Im more worried that there's no leadership on the other side of the ball...... but this isnt a thread about the Offense with it's number of second contract players.

Not only no, but hell no!!!
Micah Parsons talking with his play

Micah Parsons was at the center of the storm following his controversial comments about head coach Mike McCarthy following the Eagles game. On his podcast Monday, Parsons said he didn’t intentionally throw McCarthy under the bus. But Parsons was criticized roundly for making it sound as if there is an issue with McCarthy’s work ethic. Then Parsons decided to skip out on his game-week media availability.

I’m waiting to see how Parsons let’s his play do the talking. We all know he is an elite game-wrecker when he’s playing his best. And if what he perceived as unfair media treatment helps him find another gear, Cowboys fans will take it. Parsons and Stroud are good friends, and the Cowboys all-pro defender would love to inflict some pain on his good buddy.

I did a whole write up on this topic prior to last year's season start. This site seems to to want to be honest about topics when discussed about paying the complete price for growth.

Final look now although, there is still plenty of quality.

He is far from a leader and doesn’t know when to shut his mouth. Not a good combination. Get what you can for 11 and don’t look back.
He does have some socially redemable features in that he is a strong linebacker.

When is the last time this squad had anyone you would call a leader? This environment does not produce leaders. Expecting a 20 year old guy to come to a dysfunctional clown show where he's instantly the best player by a mile, the owner is a vocal imbecile, and mediocrity is rewarded with a record setting contract.....and you really expect him to be a leader?!? It's an impossible situation for Micah - literally. Hopefully he has someone with his best interests at heart and he leaves. A player of his caliber should be with a competent organization.

Good post.......as stated before, three ALL-PROs seasons speak to his play on the field but he needs help. I mean as an offensive coordinator your game plan is stopping one player.

Look at the Eagles adding talent

can't be a leader when you're busting it up with other teams players, I don't like that but hey it's not about me it's about what his teammates think

Oh please.......these are 2023 stats. `103 pressures, 16 sacks, 18 QB hits and 69 hurries
Maybe, just maybe we don't see the effects coz he's the only one making plays. He needs help! But know what this could be another Barkley-type thing ......where the Giants ran him out of town. They couldn't appreciate his talent coz of the poor talent around him. Just read some are now saying he should be in the MVP conversation. Look, I understand he's not everyone's cup of tea but at the end of the day, his talent is what matters.

Solo Tackles34
Assists16
Forced Fumbles1
Stops33
Sacks16
Hurries69
Hits18
Total Pressures103
That makes him a stats leader, much like Captain Garbage Time. A leader of men ...? Most leaders handle internal things internally and via chain of command, not in the press. Prototype of a politician vs a statesman.

Was Micah drafted to be a leader? Is that in his contract? Some players are just there to make plays and better the team, not every good/great player is cut out to be a leader.
