Has the Proverbial "Window" Really Closed for the Philadelphia Eagles!

Glancing at the schedule the eagles have. I think there is a really good chance they start 4-0 going into the october 8th cowboys game. then after us they get new orleans, tampa and jacksonville.

There is a chance that the eagles go into the bye at 7-1 or 6-2. Then they have a gimme in the Tennesee game. They may have 8 wins before the schedule gets difficult in late november.
:hammer:

You nailed it. Schedule is critical in today's NFL. I think that the Eagles are the 4th best team in the NFC East. I also think that they have a real good shot to start 6-2... and finish 2-6.

I'll Buy Into that ...only because it makes sense; not Because I'm an Eagles fan. Now everyone has made strides to improve upon areas they felt needed strengthening. This year will definitle show that the NFC-East is the dominant division in our conference ...once again!

I hear what you're saying, but you aren't backing it up with anything ...no offense. I have to respectfully disagree, unless you come up with the evidence to support your claim ...otherwise it's all pontification and opinionated.

So you tell me that I am pontificating and just throwing out opinions and not backing it up, but then I give you some specific reasons as to why the NFCE was weak and you fail to reply. What is up with that?

The Eagles are going 16-0...! So are the RedStinks! The Giants too!

The Cowboys will take home the Lombardi....

:star: Hide and watch...:)

One more thing. From 2001-2004:

Philly averaged 12 wins
Skins averaged 6.5 wins
Giants averaged 6.75 wins
Cowboys averaged 6.5 wins

Again, tell me how that the NFCE was not weak from 2001-2004?

I believe the Eagles window is still wide open. Unfortunately it's on a submarine.

Obviously the window is still open, as evidenced by this Eagles fan after watching yet another Eagles choke job.

Perhaps someone oughta close it before anymore get hurt.

no running game and by far the worst WR corps in the division...
I really can't see the Eagles faring very well in the division.
The Freak has been pretty normal for quite a while. He may be helped by his new DL teammates, but I get more of a feeling it'll be more like us trying to get Dat Dude to squeeze out double digit sacks again.
I don't think McNabb is as mobile as he used to be, injury or not, he's kinda fat and lost a step or two.
I don't see them being very threatening on offense. Their defense is definitely not what is was when they were winning the division. They couldn't get a passrush on anyone last year. That may be a lot better this year, but I think their LBs and DBs (minus BDawk) have declined significantly and haven't been repaired.
I think the Eagles will be better than most think but I still can't see them being that competitive in the division.

To all:

Whoa ...slow down everyone. Everyone Is saying why won't you respond to what I'm saying ...I'd like to, but I'm only One eagles fan dialoguing with at least 10 Cowboy fans; and One Commanders fan. I'm being pushed and pulled.

This is for all of you at once ...

The proverbial window, as it applies to any franchise is non-existent! That's right ...it doesn't exist ...there's No such thing as a closed window theoretically or otherwise.

You no more can predict a closing window as you can an open window. retrospectively, if the Eagles window is closing, does that mean that the Cowboys window is open or opening?

The 2006 season will answer a lot of questions about hypothetical windows opening and closing.

Correct PT, but last season was a harbinger that the 'happy time' for the Eagles has ended....at least for now. The Eagles did have a weak NFC East...and did achieve some success.....but did not win the ultimate prize.

I understand. Some say the window is opened and some say the window is closed. All I want to know is how in the world you come to the conclusion that the NFCE was not weak 2001-2004? Shoot, I am not even taking anything away from the Eagles. If there had been some really good teams during that time period, they would have had to be something special to unseat the Eagles. They were that good. I just do not see at all where the NFCE was anything more than weak at best and horrendous at worst.
