Since so many of you now have lowered your expectations of this team to rationilize your love of romo so you can say "See, I told you he was a good qb" that thinking he is worth his contract is ludicrious.
The notion is to see how good this team would be without him is too 1 sided. Brad Johnson was 40, how many 40 year old qb's play at a high level. Many forget Brad was a really good qb when he was younger. Whose to say if Dallas put a young qb back there that it would be any different then how it is with romo? The answer is there is no way to know, and just because you say it would be different doesnt mean that it would be.
Expect his int total to increase and his td total to decrease without Owens drawing coverage away from everyone else. Its a shame Jerry's previous mistakes at qb blinded him to think he had something with romo so he jumped the gun to give him all the money without proving anything. romo has had his stats with Owens, now that he is gone, romo wont have that to rely on and since his stats will probably suffer, and if there is no playoffs next year then it is time to find a new qb.
And anyone who says "you dont know what your talking about or thats so stupid" because you dont want to open your mind up to realize that just because you think he is good, that doesnt mean that he is. When this team finds a qb who wont choke when the pressure is on, I hope you all who claim to say romo is so good dont hurt yourselves jumping off his bandwagon, or continue to ride on his bandwagon while it jumps a cliff going down in flames.
TO is gone, and Jerry still runs the team. Get over it.
My goal is a superbowl every year, so to expect a playoff win would be lowering my expectations. I am not dumb enough to not see the reality of the situation though, and to solicit for the Cowboys to rid themselves of a pro bowl QB because the team did not win a playoff game.
Now that TO is gone, we should have a better chance, so things are already looking up. Getting rid of Romo would be the ABSOLUTE last thing I would look at to improve this team.
And yes, Romo has been worth every single penny and then some.
