If Reddick is there, I would have no problems selecting him. The guy is a play-maker, which is what this team needs. If Lee and Smith are healthy we would have a very intimidating group of LB's, all three of them could cover and all of them would be excellent on blitzes. On obvious passing downs he could put his hand in the dirt and be a nightmare for most Tackles. Imagine him chasing Rodgers on that 3rd and 20. Think he still gets a clean pass off?

If Lee can't give us another healthy year or if Smith can't get back to what he was in college, the need for a guy like Reddick is even greater.

He reminds me a lot of Shazier and if I remember right, the Cowboys were set on drafting Shazier ahead of Martin, if the Steelers had not taken him at the last minute.

Very good comparison,He seems to have similar Speed to Shazier and has a better pass rush.

He feels a lot like Peppers to me. Not how they play, but that he is a player you have to already have an idea of how to use him when you draft him.

To me you have to have a good idea of can he cover a TE or potentially a slower slot WR. Could your team run something exotic like a 3-3-5 using a LB to blitz on most probable passing plays?

I don't think he falls to 28, LBs that can play in space AND rush off the edge are a rare commodity.

Would love to have him, one of the best players in this draft IMO. He's got some Von Miller/Khalil Mack to him... who are 2 of the best pass rushers in the league and both really were drafted as 4-3 LBs.

I like him but Wilson looks like he could be really good and I think Nacho might have something too. Plus Hitchens is already good depth. Jaylon is a potential superstar and Lee is already all pro. I just don't see LB as a need. As a situational pass rusher he might be good but I think we could get one later like a Darrius English type.

the cowboys liked the speed and pass rush skills of Shazier and they were all set to draft him,imo Reddick is a way better pass rusher.I think the Combine will take him out of our reach at 28 anyway.

They did like Shazier but since then they have drafted Jaylon, Wilson and Nacho.

Wilson, Nacho, and even Hitch are not guys that should keep us from drafting anyone. They are depth players.
Only the Cowboys doctors truly know about Jaylon, but he's still a huge wildcard.
Despite last year Lee is still very injury prone.

So yeah, if LB is BPA it shouldn't be an issue at all

Wilson despite being injured during preseason had a breakout year last year and is a starting caliber LB. 1st and 2nd rd picks aren't the only rounds you expect to find starters in. Besides we only use 2 lb's for much of the game.

Huh? What games were you watching that Damien Wilson was a breakout player?

He had a great offseason and then was injured before the season started in a paintball incident. By November he had won the starting SAM job. The team is very high on him.

We have needs at DE, CB, SS, OT, WR2, WR4, backup RB, backup QB and probably should start looking at the TE of the future.

Wasting a premium pick on a position that has no holes is not a good idea.

I don't see Reddick (who I like a lot) as anything close to Mack and Miller... and I don't think teams will either. I really like him as a versatile 43 LB but I think it would be a stretch to expect him to play 34 OLB... which is what those two guys are.

He very well might go before Dallas picks but I don't think anyone (including Dallas) is going to fix their pass rush with Reddick. He will be more Sean Lee than Mack despite what he did in college.

I think a smaller Anthony Barr is a better comp. Maybe comparing him to a former top 10 pick is a little much, but I really think Reddick brings a unique skillset to the LB position

If we are gonna take an undersized player whos true position is an unknown then i would much rather take Reddick over Peppers. At least i know Reddick will be on the front 7 and a big asset to the pass rush.

No holes? Who's a starter besides lee?

DE, CB and ss are more important but the lb core is a mess.

Here's my biggest concern with Reddick in regards to the Cowboys. He's a fringe player, a tweener, in this scheme and I'm not sure he's special enough to overcome his lack of size (like a Von Miller or even a Bruce Irvin). This defense has too many holes and needs to where we really shouldn't risk that valuable asset (first round pick) on a guy like that.

Reddick may prove me wrong; Dak sure has heck did...but I think this team has a real shot at competing for a Super Bowl these next 3 years. I don't want to gamble with our limited resources.

I too would prefer Reddick… although I do like Peppers a good bit.

Keep reading Shazier comps with Reddick. They liked him better than Zack Martin.

And that was a mistake, IMO. I'll take Martin every day and twice on Sunday's.

Shazier was faster than Reddick but Hassan has better size and is much better getting to the QB. Not that either would be counted on as a consistent pass rusher, but Reddick, if you asked him to blitz, is much better at that.

IOW, I see Shazier as a Will LB in Marinelli’s scheme and Reddick as more of a Sam (rover [pass rusher]) (although I think he could play Mike as well).

I’m so glad Pitt took Shazier and we had to take Martin. SO glad.

I wanted Aaron Donald first and foremost but after he was gone I was on the Martin bandwagon. Woulda be very upset with Shazier.
