Hate it! But say goodbye to DeMarco?

So then why is he requesting a trade from the team that's paying him $15 million? Looks like your stance on this topic is influencing judgement.

We both know they aren't going to pay him that. But if Dallas offer say 6 mil a season and Indy or any one goes higher where do you think he would go?
He's on his last payday.

Tagging Murray would make me puke.

I thought that way at first, but it's not a bad plan if they get Dez signed long-term. It is an expensive insurance policy, but it is only for one year. Dallas has the space to sign Dez, Murray, a DE and all it's FAs. I would rather try and keep the band together for at least one more year.

If that were true I dont think he would be pushing for Dallas. Its no secret that it is going to be hard for Dallas to pay top money for a RB this year while trying to sign Dez. If we were flush with cash we would have already locked up Murray. Peterson has to know the only way he wears a star on his helmet is if he cuts us a deal.

Is Dallas the only possible team that may be interested? I hope not that would make JJ a fool. We don't know what others may offer.
What I'm saying is he is going to the highest bidder. No matter who they are. It's his final payday.

I somewhat agree – just because Seattle pays Lynch (if, indeed, the rumors are true), it's no guarantee that other teams will follow suit. HOWEVER - there's going to be one "idiot" team/owner (*cough* Oakland) out there who will throw some ridiculous offer to prime free-agent like Murray. And as much as we tell ourselves that Demarco wants to be in Dallas, The plain truth of the matter is that this is his last chance to make this kind of money. RBs today get one chance at the fat contract after their rookie deal expires. This is Murray's only shot. I just don't see him turning down a ridiculous offer, and I'm afraid some team will make him one.

Why wouldn't a team do the same for AP? He's a freak so I'm told.

I honestly think he goes to Dallas. I think that this is where he truly wants to be and that's worth something more than money.

Now, if Dallas says $5 million when others say $10 million (which I do NOT see happening), sure he would take that much more money.

But if the numbers are remotely close, he's coming home to Texas.

If Murray doesn't take what is being offered, all bets are off as Peterson sees the opportunity to come home, play with this line and this offense, for a 12-4 team, with the highest profile in the league.

If Murray leaves, give me Ingram from the Saints. Draft the RB from Boise St or Coleman from Indiana in the 3rd.

Maybe, he also mentioned the Texans in an article I read. He just wants to move home. But let some one other than the Vikes write a big check.
He will go where that check is written. He just spent a fortune on lawyers.

Oh, I believe some team will do the same for AP. in all seriousness, however, he has made his money already. Where as Demarco will be looking to cash in on his only payday, Peterson has already cashed. While it is hard to believe, it is conceivable that he could value playing at home over money… At least to a degree.

I still don't like it happens - but I can definitely see the possibility.

Jerry recently said that he has a lot of sway in that offer. I don't think JG is a dumb enough coach to take AP.

Why sign Ingram and waste a high pick on RB?

Randle and Williams plus a draft pick would be as good as Ingram for a lot less.

If you are going to pay Ingram, Ridley or Mathews then just pay Murray or AD.

Ingram shouldn't break the bank.

Ingram would cost way less than Murray. Randle is an arrest waiting to happen. Williams, I'd keep, but he's unproven in Dallas.

That's why...

That's just a lot of resources to throw at RB. If you are going to use a high round draft pick, then don't waste the money on Ingram. If you are going to pay Ingram then don't waste a high pick on RB. Ingram won't be that cheap, probably 4m a year.

Pick one or the other

And you classify 'taking' the best running back in the league as 'dumb'. Makes your position crystal clear.
