Seriously. Why the hell did we trade up to grab Demarcus? Our team has holes all over the place and we could have gotten a solid player if we would have just stood pat at the 15th pick in the second. Now we are sitting here with no 3rd rounder and instead our division foe gets the pick and we end up with yet another mystery project. This is such a head scratcher for me after they did so well with taking the BPA at 16 in the first round. This feels like the Escobar pick last year... I'm just disgusted.

How is he a project pick? Good size/speed. Productive in college. He's a safe pick with upside not a project. Of course he'll need to grow into being a pro player just like any other player in the second round. We got a guy that you can plug and play day 1 that won't be a liability.

It looks like a trade up was needed for most of the d lineman that have been discussed except Crichton

Though it may not have needed to be that big a jump to get some.

They must have figured if we r going to trade up then let's get the guy we want the most.

Yeah, he is anything but a project pick. Sure, he needs to get bigger (they all do) but he already has the pass rush moves, speed and production in college at the exact same position he's to play in the pros.

Potentially good NFL player with a horrendous trade. We gave up way too much to Washington for that spot. Ridiculous when your team is full of holes.

There were a lot of good players @ 78 that went off the board shortly thereafter guys that could of help GREATLY... shame really to not have the better foresight that actual General Managers and non-Head figure Coaches possess..

Dallas could of had #47 and another @ 78 including Will Sutton, Louis Nix and Kareem Martin.

It's hard to believe Lawrence is better than Jeramiah Attochu or Scott Crichton and one of those potential as well.

....well maybe there is a reason they fell.

It is interesting to me that Washington didn't have a pick until the second round, but then the Cowboys empowered them for the draft and now they could wind up with a stronger draft than the Cowboys. This is extremely difficult to understand. Why would they trade with the Commanders and give them an advantage over Dallas! Another thing I don't understand is that we are accustomed to JJ and et al blowing it at some time in the draft by a trade, an unknown or an injured player, but now that they have a 'special supervisor, draft expert,' to oversee the draft and we had some hope that these kind of things would not happen. I think they wasted their money on him.

I'm not a talent evaluator, so I won't make an argument against him. My question is why we couldn't package a fourth/fifth and a 7th for him? I'm pretty sure we got hosed on that one. The only justification is really, really liking him and knowing that they were not the only ones. In this case, I just don't see that. In a draft that defensive deep, that 3rd round pick was gold.

It's just a massive head scratcher trade and pick to me. I hate that we gave up our 3rd rounder. I was hoping to get more picks in this draft to address holes and instead we get less picks and help Washington at the same time.

Believe me, I hope you you're right. I still don't think you give up a 3rd like that when your team needs all the help it can get. We could have stayed where we were at and gotten a player just as good IMO.

Sometimes quality is better than quanity. I like the move and only time will tell the way this move panned out for us.

The thing is there would have been quality at 47 anyway. Now we give up our 3rd which we desperately needed.
