Haters vs Homers: A Discussion?

Even a homer can’t be pounding their chest over this win. We damn near handed Washington the game in the final four minutes. This would’ve been the biggest choke job in the history of the franchise had we cough up that huge lead.

I think it's all in presentation. It's one thing to be critical, it's another be derogatory. Dak nor Zeke are high on my board of popularity and productive plays these past few games, and I may question if they are earning their money. I can go so far as calling certain PLAYS trash. Referring to the players themselves as trash is a little too much for mixed company. Just amy opinion on it

Fair enough, man. Like I say, when it becomes personal, I completely agree.
If you feel like answering, I’m mostly just wondering if you get frustrated with Cowboys’ players if they mess up. Not that you cuss them or their families out, but do you have any negative thoughts or emotions when a really bad play happens?
I criticize, but I hate when fans use words like trash, garbage etc... but, I do have eyes and I know football, so I have no issues with criticism

By separating people into haters and homers you discredit yourself and the discussion you're trying to set up. So there's nothing in between?

K, thanks bye
lol so I try to open discussion for EVERYONE, and you still criticize?

I’m not speaking in absolutes. Of course nobody is exclusively a homer or a hater. But I didn’t know I’d have to state something so blatantly obvious.

You don’t like my thread? Cool. You’re not who I want to hear from anyways.

So Josh Allen has what to do with this thread? Oh wait, nothing....it's just you deflecting but typical approach.
He's playing bad, so they using his bad play to defend Daks bad play.

It's their way of admitting that Dak is playing horrible without actually saying it because they could never bring themselves to do that.

I mean why else would you ever bring up how bad another QB is playing to defend your QB without sublimity admitting that you realize you're QB is playing bad?

Thanks for that, man! I respect that view!

My wife and daughter would sit in a stadium with about 10,000 fans every week and had to listen to fans cuss me and my players out.....I personally left the sideline and escorted a fan out of the stadium that was cussing out one of my players for fumbling the ball. We were up by 40 points! I HATE fans that ridicule and belittle players and coaches.....

Was this at the high school level? I'm on your side - crap like that should never happen at that level. Those kids need encouragement to build confidence and heckling fans could destroy any strides you, as their HC, have taken to help build them up. The high school and college kids are just trying to bust their butts and be the best they can be.

The professional level, in my opinion, is vastly different since these athletes are getting paid to perform.

Perfect! I can definitely respect that. Appreciate your willingness to discuss it

There is something wrong with Dak....I don't think it's physical, it has to be mental.... we can be really good if MM can get him right

I’ve lived in the Dallas area for 20 years but the mystic, if you will, of the Cowboys I’ve known since I can remember. I didn’t live here in the glory days as many of you, but from reading posts of long time members I can feel the disappointment with seeing a once great team falter. Many attribute this to Jerry Jones with a generous supply of coach/player bashing going back several decades. But, I don’t see them as haters. I see them as rock-solid fans using this venue exactly as it should be used - to voice concerns, frustrations, and engage in debate. Bottom line, we all want this team to succeed. We just approach it from different angles. That’s what I love about the zone.

You really need to get into a drug intervention program as you are going off the deep end.
Lol....I've been watching the Cowboys against WFT for over 3 Decades...

I was in the Endzone when Santana Moss caught the late TDs..I saw Troy go dumb for 1 QTR but hit Ismail in OT.

I bought drugs last Sunday you Hater!!:lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

I know this is a always a weird game...

Newbie...Dak Hater

The eternal dichotomy of sports fandom… the haters and the homers.

One, blindly optimistic; one, unshakably critical. I most definitely fall into the latter category.

In saying this, I’d like to open the floor to the optimists (I won’t name names)! I’m hoping we can have a constructive conversation and hear each other out on things such as:

Why do you dislike someone being critical of your favorite team and/or players of that team? Do you feel it’s disrespectful? Anti-fan?

While watching games, how do you react when things go wrong? If Dak makes a terrible throw or has an untimely interception or Anthony Brown gets burned, what’s your internal and external reaction? Do you have negative thoughts or do you directly move on to the next play and hope for the best?

I’d really like to hear from you guys, on both sides. There is usually a strict divide on this and there’s lots of judgment tossed around (especially during games when tensions are high). But maybe we can gain some perspective and have rational discussion while emotions are stable.

Go Cowboys!

I am Total Homer

Go Cowboys!
We've all seen wildcard playoff teams win the Super Bowl. So logically it makes no sense to give up on a season before it's over. Hater or Homer, both will tune in 'til the very end.

If these Haters have really given up on the season then why continue to tune in? So if no one is refusing to watch the games, then no one is a Hater. WE ARE ALL HOMERS.

WE ARE ALL HOMERS. We are all here to the bitter end regardless.

It was a profession for me, but more like a vocation.... I was one of the highest paid coaches in Texas at one time, but I always put my kids first... the pro players are used up and spit out....they deserve some respect too.

This post means a lot! To know that you see/feel that helps me understand way better.

I’m the first to admit that I’m very reactionary and hyperbolic in what I say, especially in the game threads. And I know that rubs people the wrong way haha.

I agree with you. I’m concerned for Dak because you can nearly see how he’s overthinking absolutely everything; seems to be questioning reads and hesitant to trust what he’s seeing. Between MM and Kellen, I really hope they can get it turned around

Wrong...because most fans Know ALL QBs have bad games, throws and INTs..

Dak Haters are miserable
