big plus - jaylon, gregory (available)
plus - gallup, armstrong, taco, thomas, looney, austin, woods dt, bjones, awuzie
minus - lve, ward, hurns, thompson, ealy, lewis, woods s, rush

Not a bad list. All TE's were a disappointment, nobody showed up. Frederick has to be in there. Irving certainly disappointed and Collins getting hurt again has been disappointing.

I wont say im disappointed in any 1 player. First of all we dont know what was asked of many, and second instead of disappointment, i think some fans got a dose of reality. A very low dose. I will say this. Overall, I think its been a better than average off season. Did we address all of our concerns? Clearly not, but thats ok. Its going to be another down here, dont get excited, i called it bad last year, reality proved me right. Buckle up for a ride, just dont be sad when it happens, ok. No big deal.

I have said this is Waving Monkey, so i ll say it again. I think with the new coaches, the new culture, and what the FO did with changing the defense when the team was close, JG is looking at 3 years min. Ok, thats reality deal with it. So far hes done better than average.

Love the new coaches, i think they make the year better, not by record, but by changing the culture. The FO is still the FO so there is only so much leeway. Yes i have gone on record that JJ is not interested in winning the SB, i think history backs me up on it.

This year, JG implements new stuff. The immediate move, leave the defense alone. Let them handle the D, just stay out of it. So far all the roster moves we have made are pretty good. The cuts will trim it down, and we ll see what we are looking at and what direction they want to go. Makes sense.

Ealy, Ward, you knew what they were about, not superstars, possibly solid, maybe nothing left anymore. Who knows, clearly not on the fast track to raise eye brows.

On the other side here is what made me mad about the Switzer Ward trade, this was the year to find out what you have. We need a Terry Glenn type player to make the WR by committee work. Even if Gallup stands out and hes on the fast track to do it, the ball still needs to be spread around. We are hoping Beasley helps, but who knows who the defenses will target. Last year , target a player and the Cowboys just collapsed. You need the TG player to keep the defense honest.

Now, the best attack at this point. Run, run set up the pass. Ive gone on record with this, if they try it the other way, it will take a month to figure out what you have. Technically you have all year, so have at it. Ill never ever ever ever accuse JG of being a good coach.

If JG cant crack 8 wins, i personally feel he should be dumped, but lets face it, JJ doesnt care as long as he makes hundred dollar bills. Hes Manziels hero, lets all be honest. So, long story short, no real disappointments up untill this part, pretty happy with what im seeing. for me pre season is over, we know what we got and everything else will just get bad. Healthy recovery Fredbeard, because speedy wont be needed. This year really wont matter on the record, but lets see if JG can change the culture and install things that work.

White is likely for the PS unless he's lights out the next two games.
Lewis will make the team, but is definitely having a rough go
Ealy is toast
Schultz will make the 53. He's a rookie and there's no way they cut him unless he shoots up a Walgreens
Rico has outplayed rookie Schultz. Heck, he's outgained in passcatching yards all of the TEs so far, and he's definitely had the most dynamic plays. As for blocking, Rico has arguably been on par with the other TEs. I don't understand why Rico doesn't get more recognition?

The bad omen already seems to be the oline injury bug. We can't win 10 games without Frederick and MARTIN HEALTHY. Without Martin..or with a Martin at 75%...that worries me. We saw what a dinged up oline does last year, over on that left side.Paul Alexander might have a tall task getting the chemistry going if he's dealing with shuffling olineman in and out. Zeke will go how the oline goes.

MIke White is the only one I would really put on this list, but Schultz and Jourdan Lewis are close. Kony Ealy was offseason insurance, I don't list him because they weren't depending on him for anything.

Mike White has looked better than Rush! I would put Rush on this list frankly.

Ealy is capable of disrupting. I would not cut him. Ward has disappointed. He should be cut barring a spectacular showing last minute. Marcus Martin is a goner. Deon Thompson is a bubble guy...but I think he makes it due to the need at wr.

Wanna hear an odd stat? read somewhere Ealy was near the top of the league ( 2nd I think ) in knock-downs last year.

and even more bizarre, that may be why we brought him in here, that alone. If he can just do THAT...he's worth keeping. Its a big deal.

Just me but LVE is being graded bit too harsh IMO. LBer is one the more difficult defensive positions for rookies to make an impact and hasn't help he's been hit with the injury bug. His grade is closer to incomplete ( at least until mid-season ) IMO.

I can't believe Cameron Fleming hasn't been mentioned. He is better than Chaz, but not by much. That is disappointing. Some thought he could be good enough to move Collins back to Guard.

Cooper Rush has definitely taken a step back.

Jourdan Lewis and Anthony Brown are disappointing.

Ealy is obviously disappointing

On the other side, the LB corps has pretty much impressed through the top 5 or 6 guys. DE's have impressed. WR's for the most part have impressed. Heath has impressed.

Probabaly so, but Rush has shown he belongs in the past while White is definitely below what was expected of him.
