Have the Browns passed the Cowboys in roster talent?

In the midst of the offseason, and even before the 2019 draft, the Cleveland Browns are emerging as a serious contender in the AFC for 2019. I’m not a big Odell Beckham fan but I recognize the guy has talent and the Browns trade to get him has certainly raised some eyebrows.

And the Browns should have a lot of talent. When you colossally suck for over a decade you have a chance to add some talent in the draft.

So here’s my question Cowboys fans....have the brownies passed us in the chase for NFL talent? If we matched up with them now, who would have the edge? Are the Browns closer to a SB than Dallas? I’m not going to do every position- just the positions we are looking at locking up long term as our top talent compared to the Browns.

Let’s look at the Browns top talent compared to ours:
Position Which team has the edge?
QB- Baker Mayfield vs. Dak Prescott (Cle)
RB- Nick Chubb vs. Zeke Elliott. (Dal)
WR- Odell Jr. vs Amari Cooper. ( Cle? Push?)
Pass Rusher-Miles Garrett vs Tank Lawrence (Push?)

So what say you Cowboys fans....are the Browns passing us in talent?

We have better LB's and OL but that is about it.

That Odell & Jarvis combo at WR is much better than us. Other than that, I'd take us.

Who cares, they've picked at the top of the draft every year, they should've lapped us twice.

They have better RB depth, better receivers, and better tight end.

Talent on paper means nothing. If it did, we would have had a few more super bowls in the last 22 years. How that talent translates on the field, the chemistry they hold, the coaching they have, the execution of plays has everything to do with success. I know a lot of experts are claiming the Browns to be the top of the AFC. I guess we will find out by the end of next season. As far as the Cowboys are concerned we still have Garrett and a brand new OC. We shall see how the play calling will be this season. In the off season every team is on the same level.

I think they’ve absolutely passed Dallas in talent level.

And yet we still haven't had any more success than they have. That's a sorry reality to think about

See the Giants the year they gave out over 200M in contracts to Vernon and others. They appeared to be stacked with talent.

It turns out a roster full of big names often doesn't make for a great team.

And yet somehow you chose to post on “a stupid thread”...Why don’t you leave the personal insults out if you choose to post in a stupid thread.

I insulted the thread. Are you the thread?

Why would a Cowboys fan care about Cleveland? Your mucking up the board.

You obviously didn’t read the thread. Show me where I said anything about being a fan of Cleveland? I asked a question about talent. Show me where I’m cheerleading for the Browns?

The browns are on the rise. It seems they finally have a football guy making good decisions instead of using some stupid new age metric to pick players.
