Who's to say we did approach Suh and he rejected us knowing the Eagles had approached him, or we actually preferred Hankins.

This is just my opinion, I haven't heard any rumors about this, but I thought it was odd that the eagles signed both joseph and suh. The reason I suspect they did this was to stop another playoff team from signing them.

What is so great about Suh? Suh was picked up as a stop gap fill in while Davis is out. Once Davis comes back they will have 3 all pro type DT's. Suh might not even see the field when Davis gets back.

Davis, Hargrave, Cox are their top 3 DT's. Suh is nothing compared to those 3. The moment Suh steps onto the field they get worse. Let them play Suh as much as they want.
If Suh and Linval Joseph play extensive snaps, that means Jordan Davis and Milton Williams are failing...

In the games that he has been active, Davis has only averaged 31% of snaps and never more than 42%.

That's not good for the #13 overall pick.

Just a reminder, the last time these two teams met, Hurts threw for 132 yards and the Eagles only managed 268 yards total. The Cowboys have the players to compete with the Eagles. What they need to do is not throw 3 INTs and make a lot of stupid penalties.
Yes, the 3 INTs is what lost that game.

Tyron be enough to neutralize Jordan Davis Fletcher Cox Linville Joseph and Suh.

Last time I checked the Eagles don't play four DT's at the same time.

HOFer Tyron Smith, top-eight tackle Steele will neutralize Philly edge players.

Tyler Smith can out-muscle any Eagles DTs on the left side; Zack Martin will out-man the others on the right side

They're playing decent amount of snaps.
Suh 36%
Joseph 41%

For reference the Cowboys DTs:
Odighi 53%
Hankins 39%
Gallimore 37%

It will be fun to see Tyler at OG for a full game.

He can go off on defenders with power.

The Bucs lined Vita Vea up on him for a couple of snaps and Tyler tossed him to the ground...

Yep I'm hoping we can put a spy on Hurts and I think Clark has the speed to run him down
Clark has been a big boost to the defense.

Exactly what they needed. The speed difference between Clark and Barr is huge.

If our D can stop them or slow them down enough, no doubt we can beat them. The Igals have not faced a D like ours which is only getting better and more fierce. We cannot leave our O to Dak, he will not put up numbers. As always, we run the ball effectively, we beat this team

They actually play quite a bit of a 5 man front that has 3 dts.

so a 5 dt rotation makes a ton of sense.

Statistically, the little beagles is the better team this year. And Hurts is having a MVP type season.
So, no.

Have the Cowboys done enough to compete with our hated rival the Eagles.

Will we be able to put a stop to their running game.
Will Damone Clark or Donovan Wilson be able to contain Hurts as a spy.
Will Hankins and our defensive tackles be enough to compete with their offensive line.

Will the addition of Tyron be enough to neutralize Jordan Davis Fletcher Cox Linville Joseph and Suh.

We will find out on Christmas Eve of all times just wondering how everyone else feels on the subject as I feel we are in pretty fair shape but I would have much rather us pick up Suh then let the Eagles get him.

I may be wrong but when this guy wants to play he is a dominant human being and if he smells Super bowl and possibly a gold jacket down the road he may play beyond our expectations.
Thoughts??

If the outcomes are scripted, and the league has it in for the Cowboys, does it even matter?

No offense, but this post seems odd given what you've been saying in other threads.

Suh, Cox and Joseph are >300 pounds and >30 years old. Davis is 360 pounds. Count me as highly skeptical the Eagles play 3 of those at the same time aside from short yardage situs.

We lost to the Eagles with our backup QB. I didn’t see anything in that game that indicated we couldn’t compete with them!

Well Davis hasn’t been back that long… But I believe I recall a first down where Linval was the nose, Davis on one side, and another DT on the other… Not sure who the third guy was. Suh Had quite a few sacks last year in limited snaps… he can still penetrate

LOL yeah let’s base everything off of one game….

wait, they barely beat the Colts, who we blew out… We can’t lose!

Wait again, they blew out the Packers who beat us… We don’t have a prayer!

We ARE as good...if not better....than Philly. If Corky had been smart enough to instruct Junior to keep running the damn ball at Green Bay, we would be in the driver seat right now...end of subject!!!

The Cowboys hadn’t done enough the first time they played Philly. However, we have Dak this time around. We’re going to have to play much better defensively stopping their running game or the second game isn’t going to be any different. They were able to impose their will in the fourth quarter with 11 straight running plays that led to a TD. The Cowboys won’t get any farther than last season if they can’t win the battle in the trenches.
I agree KJJ, our defense absolutely needs to control the run better this time, and we need to clean up the drive killing penalties.

Dude you have no clue if we are as good or better…neither do I. It will be very interesting dec 24, and the playoffs.
