Have the Cowboys done enough to compete with the Eagles?

The Cowboys hadn’t done enough the first time they played Philly. However, we have Dak this time around. We’re going to have to play much better defensively stopping their running game or the second game isn’t going to be any different. They were able to impose their will in the fourth quarter with 11 straight running plays that led to a TD. The Cowboys won’t get any farther than last season if they can’t win the battle in the trenches.
If our D can stop them or slow them down enough, no doubt we can beat them. The Igals have not faced a D like ours which is only getting better and more fierce. We cannot leave our O to Dak, he will not put up numbers. As always, we run the ball effectively, we beat this team

I agree I'm just wondering if what the Eagles have done in the way of adding to their defensive line is going to keep us from running the ball effectively.
They certainly have gone all in to make an effort to stop the run

Well Davis hasn’t been back that long… But I believe I recall a first down where Linval was the nose, Davis on one side, and another DT on the other… Not sure who the third guy was. Suh Had quite a few sacks last year in limited snaps… he can still penetrate

Exactly when Suh is motivated to play he is a dominant player and I believe he is motivated to win another Super bowl and possibly get a gold jacket at the end of it all.

We will all find out. Have the game coming up against them, and really looking like we may see them again in round 2 in the playoffs too. So we will all have our answers on this very soon.

LOL yeah let’s base everything off of one game….

wait, they barely beat the Colts, who we blew out… We can’t lose!

Wait again, they blew out the Packers who beat us… We don’t have a prayer!
Lol, was that incoherent babbling rant supposed to make some sort of point?

If the outcomes are scripted, and the league has it in for the Cowboys, does it even matter?

No offense, but this post seems odd given what you've been saying in other threads.[/QUOTE

No offense taken just a little tired of having to continue to explain my stance after it was gone over many times in a 30-page thread.

I never used the word scripted
I said the games were manipulated to be competitive to keep the viewing audience and that the Cowboys happen to be involved because they were in so many prime time games.

I believe some officials have bias against the Cowboys because as with most fans it's a love-hate relationship and I believe officials grew up either loving or hating the Cowboys so it may enter into their work.

That said I don't believe the league has an all-out vendetta against any special team.

I do believe they have a responsibility to their sponsors to keep games competitive and do all they can to keep the maximum viewing audience.
And if some teams have to fall on the sword for the greater good of the League that is just what has to happen.

I believe the last thing I posted on the subject was the fact that Baker Mayfield in his debut with the Rams was given a whole lot of help at the end of the game by the officials so that there would be a storyline when the lowly Rams played the lowly Packers and people would watch the game.

It was an instance where the raiders had to fall on the sword for the greater good of the League in my opinion.
No need for a response to this just trying to clear it up for you as this thread I've created is about something else and I would like to keep it on track if you need more clarification just PM me

Honestly, I think if they played today, Dallas would blow Philly out.

Have the Eagles done enough to compete with the Cowboys?

It was the Cowboys who beat the Eagles last season by an average of 22.5 points.

All the Eagles have done so far is defeat the Cowboys by taking advantage of Dak's absence. Cooper's INT's led to 10 points, the margin of victory was 9 points.

The Cowboys outgained the Eagles in yardage. The Cowboys averaged 5.2 yards a carry running the ball.. The Eagles averaged 3.5 yards a carry.

Halfway through the 4th quarter it was a 3 point game.

Since Dak's return the Cowboys have averaged over 15 points more a game. If Dak was available for that game the Cowboys would have blown them out.

Their luck runs out on Christmas Eve. Even if the Cowboys have to play the Eagles in Philadelphia during the playoffs it will just add to the joy watching the game with a silent and deeply disappointed stadium filled with Eagles fans

Unfortunately the Eagles have done more than enough to compete with the Cowboys their record shows it.

And through the season they continued to add pieces where they were weak to compete.

The fact we beat their second team by a giant margin last year has absolutely no bearing on what happens this year.

The Eagles unfortunately are much better team this year and in my opinion are the only thing that stand between us and quite possibly playing in the Super bowl this year.

They are no pushover and need to be taken seriously. I'm hoping the Giants give us some help for a chance to take the division.

There's a good chance both teams will be at full strength on Christmas Eve and this question will be answered

Have the Cowboys done enough to compete with our hated rival the Eagles.

Will we be able to put a stop to their running game.
Will Damone Clark or Donovan Wilson be able to contain Hurts as a spy.
Will Hankins and our defensive tackles be enough to compete with their offensive line.

Will the addition of Tyron be enough to neutralize Jordan Davis Fletcher Cox Linville Joseph and Suh.

We will find out on Christmas Eve of all times just wondering how everyone else feels on the subject as I feel we are in pretty fair shape but I would have much rather us pick up Suh then let the Eagles get him.

I may be wrong but when this guy wants to play he is a dominant human being and if he smells Super bowl and possibly a gold jacket down the road he may play beyond our expectations.
Thoughts??
Have the Eagles, done enough , to compete with the Cowboys, I believe you mean.

No. The easy answer is they have a more talented roster.

Their franchise did more in FA to build a super bowl contender while ours did practically nothing.

Lol. No. Suh will see the field plenty. I wouldn’t be surprised if he sees more plays than Davis. Cox is not what he once was.

And Suh is what he once was? Suh will be negligible once Davis comes back. Davis is already one of the best DT's in the game.

If Suh and Linval Joseph play extensive snaps, that means Jordan Davis and Milton Williams are failing...

In the games that he has been active, Davis has only averaged 31% of snaps and never more than 42%.

That's not good for the #13 overall pick.

Thats because they have Cox and Hargrave genius. Two all pros already playing. Have you even been paying attention? When Davis has played he has been incredible.

Davis is already back and the point is we have always been weak in the interior of our defensive line The Eagles not only drafted a dominant player but they added a guy who could be a dominant backup .

Point is the Eagles have done their homework and done everything in their power to stop our running game.

Is the addition of Jonathan Hankins going to be enough to stop their running game.
We had the ability to pick up Suh are we going to pay for being asleep at the switch and letting our rival who we are going to probably have to see in the playoffs bolster their defensive line while we basically stand Pat with ours.

Remember they're defensive tackles with Davis and Cox were better than ours to begin with and they basically scarfed up players that could have helped us because we sat on our hands Hope it doesn't bite us in the *** later.

YOur point was that Suh was some kind of great DT we should have signed and the Eagles got him instead. Once again this is just another complaint that has no merit. Suh is a has been and was signed as a stop gap backup in case he is needed.

“To compete with” absolutely
To be better than, no. But we are good enough to beat them if we play well and if things go our way. If you have that chance against the best team in the conference you have to be happy

Try and understand here The Eagles were already strong at defensive tackle They just had an injury They didn't even really need Suh or Linville Joseph but they chose to add depth to prepare for the playoffs.

We on the other hand were already weak at that position and needed help and didn't take advantage of the fact that it was out there worse yet let the team that we're going to face in the playoffs get the help.

It's not that at this point in his career he is a great defensive tackle but when he wants to play he can be better than what we have.

The quarterback play may be the deciding factor. Although Hurts is having a breakout season, I have to believe that our 6 year veteran can outplay him…..experience has to count for something

going to be interesting as to how Vegas views this question by the OP

No, Suh is not what he once was. I don’t think anyone would say he is going to be a dominant player for 4 quarters. But, what Suh provides that none of our DTs seem to is the ability to both clog the middle against the run and also get a little push up the middle in the passing game. He likely is better in a rotation or reduced snaps, but that is what we do any way so he would have been a good fit here. If the choice is Suh or Carlos Watkins, sign me up for Suh all game long. Then we still have two big bodies in Bohanna and Hankins as well as OSA and Gallimore. IMO that would give us a much better chance to stop the Eagles.

You dont think I already know they were strong? LOL Thats what I have been telling you. Suh was a joke signing. Your the one crying about how much Suh would make them better.
